An Unexpected Engagement
*SPOILER WARNING!*
This quest will be available after completing "Heraldry from a Herald" if you've continued to pursue a romance with Josephine. If you do not want to pursue a romance with her you will have the option to turn her down during this quest line.
Josephine will inform you that she has been engaged to marry without her knowledge by her noble family and in order to defend her honor you will have to duel the man she is betrothed to. Before the duel you will need to complete at least one war table operation. After that you'll meet a representative of the suitor's in the courtyard at Skyhold and then travel to Orlais to begin the duel.
The overall outcome of the quest depend on whether you choose to continue pursing a romance with Josephine or not.
GAMER TIP: If you have the Arcane Knowledge Inquisition Perk unlocked you'll have unique dialog options that allow you to run a bonus War Table operation to dig up dirt on Josephine's suitor. This will allow you to confront him with the information during the duel and gain the upper hand.
i guess then ur only choice is to load to before u accepted the mission
bdw u know that 2H champion is a beast, like if in a mmo u combine tank and 2h damage dealer in to 1char what is impossible in mmo
to the death is important and walking fortress, u also need to know what to craft on armor and weapon and also when to use witch skill, u know with deep roads (DLC) boss, my hole party died and boss had half or bit more then half hp left and i killed it with 2h blackwall
at 1point i recommend masterworks for ur party use anything that gives 5 guard on hit, like fade touched silverwrite, i know 2 things what give 5 guard but i remember just ones names, it saved solas a lot with my completed char, he uses barrier to, but when its down hes vulnerable, but with this gear he no longer was, so good hint also for when u play a mage, u sacrifice 10% of extra stats ofc i use to use that a lot, at 1point u can get 3-4 mats with 5 guard on hit to get ur full pt geared with that + other stats
ofc if ur champ u don't need guard on hit, only ai is bit bad at building guard so ai needs it
I'm trying to figure out where to find the champions I have to duel for their heraldry. I've explored what I'm pretty certain is the entire Exalted Plains at this point, but I still haven't found two of them. I found the one past the Fens Camp, but the other two are MIA. Any idea where I should be looking? It's getting tedious.
level 1
Any luck? I can't even find the one at the Fens camp.
level 1
i found the one on the Desolate Bank. go to the riverside camp and then travel about 4inches on the map northeast.
level 1
Desolate plains, just walk along the western waters edge, you will run into them. The last, you have to find the blocked entrance, then go do the war table mission to open the area up. cant miss them once inside the last area.

EraYachi 7 years ago#2 Whilst confounded by the number of expletives in this post, I did find this quite useful. My thanks, sir. |
LLamuh 7 years ago#3 Can you tell me where the locations are to duel the 3 champions? I know the names but I dont know where they are |
xvMICHAELvx 7 years ago#4 They are all in the exalted plains. Its a bit misleading with the way it words everything. Basically you have to walk around in the exalted plains until the area names pop up since they aren't marked on your map. |
Hannibal222 7 years ago#5 I CANNOT find the champion on the Desolate Bank. Ran up and down it 4/5 times at least. No idea where the dude might be. Say no to fake shakes! |
AudienceOfDumb 7 years ago#6 I'm in the same boat. The desolate banks champ is a no show. Some other guys show up but no champ. This quest is broken or bugged. |
Kirbye2006 7 years ago#7 The Desolate Banks champion is on the northern half of the Desolate Banks (north of the big set of rocks that separates the North and South). You can go to the bridge to Pont Agur (or whatever the bridge is that you need an Operation to repair) and go south along the beach. People do not read and respond to other user's signatures |
Eusepherus 7 years ago#8 1st Champion - Start in Fens Camp. Go northeast up through the area you have to open-up (path to the dragon) ... he is on the path. 2nd Champion - Start at Riverside Garrison and ride south along the river ... he is on the path south of the bridge. 3rd Champion - Start at Dalish Camp ... travel south-easterly and he is in the hills down there. Once I knew where to look for them it was stupid-easy to complete this quest. They spawned for me almost immediately (they should IF you are in the right places). This quest is NOT "bugged". Then you go to Skyhold, get the book which is by Blackwell and then go to a crafting table and craft your standard, Viola, you are a Champion. |
delta_12 7 years ago#9 For every rivals specialist, if you find one, Just remember the area where you meet one of them, leave exalted plains to other area such skyhold, and when you went back, you will find that rival
specialist respawning in the same area. Kill him again, rinse and repeat until got all three of needed item. No need to search to any other area. -- |
Dimension_Door 7 years ago#10 Here's a map where to find them: //dragonage.wikia.com/wiki/Champion_%28Inquisition%29?file=Champions.png Note that the champion on the farthest right of the map is inside a grove that can only be unlocked by visiting the War Room table. Basically search this area where there is a rockfall blocking a cave before you head to that fort (which is part of the main Exalted plains quest). Total sentence imposed is ten |
