Notes

This fix causes a loss of some visual fidelity.

I just switched in options from mouse/keyboard to Logitech rumble pad and the controller won't work, I cannot access menu from controller, mouse, or keyboard. I've tried closing out and opening the game again and no change. HELP

The game runs great on the Steam Deck but you have to use Kb+M controller configuration which means you do not get the controller ui and is not the best user experience. I have played hours on PC using an XBox controller and I hope someone has a solution or the Developers can put out a patch for it. I've had a lot of friends get interested with the announcement of the new game.

If anyone knows any tricks I'm not shy about messing with the Linux/Proton settings if you know how to get the game to see the controller. I suspect the developers will need to step in though.

How do I get my controller to work with Dragon Age Inquisition?

Go to Steam > Settings > Controller > General Controller Setting > and turn on "Xbox Configuration Support" and "XBox Extended Configuration Support", then let the drivers install.

Does Dragon Age Inquisition work on steam deck?

Works perfectly with a custom controller config The Steam Deck is not detected as a controller, so you have to use a custom mouse/keyboard configuration to play.

Does Dragon Age Inquisition have controller support?

Dragon Age: Inquisition Creative Director Mike Laidlaw confirmed to me today that the game will have controller support, along with support for keyboard and mouse. When I asked him how it would work, he replied: “Yes, it will, along with keyboard and mouse, different UI depending on input device.” So there you have it.

How do I change the controller settings on my steam deck?

The easiest way is to press the controller icon located on the far right of a game's landing page. It's next to a cog wheel. Alternatively, you can enter Steam Input in-game by pressing the Steam button underneath the left Trackpad and then pressing right on the D-Pad until you reach the game's controller layout.
