Elden Ring giants red braid or burn O flame

Elden Ring’s toughest bosses will drop Remembrances — items that can either be consumed for a large number of Runes, or exchanged for some valuable gear. In the case of the towering Fire Giant, he’ll drop the Remembrance of the Fire Giant once defeated. Provided you don’t consume it for Runes, you can use this item by visiting Finger Reader Enia in Roundtable Hold.

The Remembrance can be used to obtain one of two items from Enia: The Giant’s Red Braid whip, or the Burn, O Flame! incantation. The whip deals out both physical and fire damage, and scales with Strength, Dexterity, and Faith. Additionally, the requirements to wield the whip are fairly low; you only need 18 Strength, 12 Dexterity, and 21 Faith. You’ll also have to pay 10,000 Runes in addition to giving up the Remembrance. Its unique skill is Flame Dance, which sees your character coat the whip in fire before unleashing a multi-hit, hard to avoid combo with it.

Meanwhile, the Burn, O Flame! incantation only requires 27 Faith to wield. This incantation raises multiple pillars of fire around the caster, similar to one of the AOE attacks employed by the Fire Giant during his fight. It’s a pretty deadly AOE attack that’s most effective when taking on groups of enemies.

After defeating the Fire Giant in Elden Ring, you’ll be granted a one-of-kind item, called the Remembrance of the Fire Giant. Once you obtain this item, you may be wondering what you need to do with it? Is it something that you can use to restore your health, or does it have a bigger purpose than that?

Following along with our guide, we’ll tell you how to activate its full potential, if you should accept its rewards, or if you should kick it to the curb in exchange for some extra Runes. Elden Ring – Remembrance of the Fire Giant

After finding and defeating the Fire Giant at the Flame Peak of the Mountaintops of the Giants, you’ll be granted the Remembrance of him. What can you do with this item? Well if you’ll head to find Enia in the Roundtable Hold, you’ll be able to unlock its full power and a few weapons and Incantations that can change the game for you.

After having Enia unlock the Remembrance’s full power, you’ll be granted the choice between the Giant’s Red Braid, a powerful whip, or the Burn, O Flame! Incantation, which is a very valuable skill to have and hold onto.

For those who wish to inflict pain from a distance, the Giants Red Braid offers a great amount of damage for a whip, that scales with Strength, Dexterity, and Faith. Offering base stats of 82 Physical and 53 Fire, with a 100 on Crit, as well, you’ll be able to bring the pain to your foes from afar, and able to take a fair amount of damage, with  24 Physical Guard, 12 guard against Magic, Light, and Holy, and 26 against fire. This makes it a valuable weapon for anyone, and won’t leave you stranded if you’re trying out a whip for the first time

For those that are more inclined to Magic and playing Defensively, however, the Burn, O Flame! Incantation is a great piece to have. Only costing 30 FP to cast, you’ll find yourself surrounded by pillars of flame, allowing you ample time to keep yourself on the defensive, and burn those who dare approach you. And since it only requires 27 Faith to equip, and only takes up 1 Slot, it’s a great option to carry around with you at any time.

However, if you are not liking either of these options, you’ll be able to trade off the Remembrance of the Fire Giant for 30,000 Runes to any merchant in the world. You can also duplicate this Remembrance at any of the Walking Mausoleums, but you can only duplicate it once per mausoleum.

Both of these items are well worth your time and effort to achieve, so you’ll want to make sure that you’re taking the time to search out this large lad, and take him out of this plane of existence. Bringing a friend along for the ride doesn’t hurt, either.

Raises a series of flame pillars around the caster.

Charging further increases the number of flame pillars.

    This and the giant's red braid whip are more than worth using a mausoleum for duplicating the fire giant's remembrance.

    (Speaking of PvP not PvE) Really fun to use honestly, especially with the improved cast speed. Did around 400 damage on my build and uppercuts players into the air if a pillar hits, essentially granting you a safe recovery from its animation. Given its low poise when casting and damage relative to cast time from start to finish though, I personally wouldn't use this for serious, sweat-inducing invasions.

    Used this very late and 1 or 2 shot Radagon with it. Easy to use on him at the beginning of the fight. Have to test it on Malenia now.

    This demolishes Malenia. Still requires skill to cast, especially timing it in her second phase when she's more aggressive. Cast Swarm of Flies to draw her in and then immediately cast Burn O Flame! She'll fall for it every time.

    Does this incantation stack with the rotten winged sword insignia talisman and Thorny cracked tear? It worked with ancient dragon lightning.

    This spell is so broken. With 80 faith, +25 Giat Seal in main hand, +10 Erdtree Seal in off hand (casting with off hand) fire scorpion charm, golden wow, flame grant me strenghth and flame shrouding tear I was able to stun lock Malenia in both phases granting she did not do her hyper armor combos. Easily took her down in less then 30 seconds.

    I've been using black flame ritual for the exact same things mentioned here for this and it's a lot easier to get. Enemies that don't have stupidly high fire damage negation cant pass through the pillars of black flame to get at me it staggers them and does very good damage and if they keep trying to pass through they die. It's really good for buying time to heal or cast something else with a longer start up that might otherwise leave you vulnerable.

    This is actually a sleeper spell for pure casters in PvP. It's very fast, does quite a bit of damage, and flings people into the air, stunning them for a while to potentially set up a combo. And even if they don't run into it, it forces them to back off of you. Even though Fire Storm/Chaos Storm in DS3 was absolutely terrible, don't knock this one 'til you try it.

    Soloed Malenia (no spirit ash) with this (1.04 patch). Easiest method I’ve tried so far. You can chain knock downs. It was possible prebuff, but much easier now.

    This spell does massive damage when you charge it if you manage to sneak one off or during an opening. It's not good against things that are resistant to fire but you won't have to worry about that since there's not a whole lot.

    This is a really good spell, albeit situational. In my case, I'm using Fire Prelate Set with Fire Scorpion/DragonCrest Greatshield Talisman/Godfrey Icon and Flock Canvas Talisman, with Giant's Red Braid (Whip).
    
    This is a spell you use against large enemies; Easily I can deal 3K+ dmg against those pesky Erdtree Avatars and Ulcerated tree spirits at 62 FTH; that's easily 40% of their HP per cast, and I have enough Vigor (and defenses) at 44 VIG and Radahn's Great Rune to trade taking some dmg to cast this spell. It's pretty high risk, but the payoff is insanely good against large enemies. Dragons/Tree spirits and all sorts of large enemies will eat dirt if you get this off. Never use this against trolls or human sized enemies though; the former is still "too small" and since the flame pillars are rdm smaller enemies can dodge them easily. If the latter gets hit though, its big dmg and they get knocked up first and then come crashing to the ground.

    Is the fire giants red braid good?
