About Dr. Michael Baughan

Dr. Baughan has worked at eyecarecenter in Elizabeth City for 20 out of 36 years as an optometrist. He also treats patients from many parts of the world, including Haiti, St. Lucia, Trinidad, Mexico, Guatemala, El Salvador, mainland Cuba and Belize, as a volunteer eye doctor for Volunteer Optometric Service to Humanity-NC. His 2 most interesting years were as a Peace Corps Teacher on Savai'i Island in Samoa, South Pacific. Mike has been a practicing Optometrist since 1985 after attending The Pennsylvania College of Optometry. His Samoan experience has led to 35 years of scuba diving in many oceans, while providing free eye exams to locals. Married to his lovely wife, Sallie, they live in Elizabeth City, NC.
