The end of the school year is so wonderful!  Teachers and students alike daydream about all the wonderful things to come.  However, it’s also a time of reflection over the year that passed, and for many it has a tinge of sadness about the things that will be missed. For these reasons, many teachers give their students parting gifts commemorating the year and looking forward to the next.  Oh, and there is no need to spend a fortune, most students are perfectly happy receiving goodies from your local dollar store.  Here are 7 amazing end of the year gift ideas for students that you must see:

1. Pencils

Any teacher out there can testify to the fact that pencils are forever in need!  Students are constantly misplacing them, so what better gift to give than that which they will need most.  You can personalize the pencils with messages like the one’s below.  You can also add an extra touch by including pencils with designs that your students will love.

Acrostic poem messages… (Taken from Room Mom Spot)High fives! (Taken from Simplifying Radicals)If you’re looking for something generic, these are clever! They also come with a coloring page for students.

If you have a classroom theme like Dr. Seuss, themed pencils would be a perfect gift idea:

2. Bookmarks

If your end of the year gift is a bookmark, then you’ll be encouraging your students to continue reading throughout the summer, while also including personalized messages.

A simple DIY. Cut out card stock, write personal messages, laminate and you’re done! (If anyone knows who to credit this image to, please leave a comment below)Melissa & Doug has this set of 12 adorable scratch bookmarks for only $6! 3. Encouraging Fun in the Sun

By the end of the year, your students will be so enthralled with the summer fun that awaits them.  So why not use that to give them an end of the year gift they can be excited about.  Here are some ideas I liked:

The tags are available here and also come with a coloring page for kids.Nurture your students’ love for art with some artsy craft favors. 5. Cherishing Memories

Each school year, students grow and exceed in leaps and bounds.  Both students’ and their parents will love being reminded of that!

If you’ve captured videos and images of your year as a class, what better gift to give your students then to preserve those valuable memories. (Taken from Teach Junkie)

6. Equip them with kid essentials

Students love receiving goodies that are just for them.  Try using these kid essentials with whimsical messages as your end of the year gift.

(Taken from Our Thrifty Ideas) You can find all kinds of miniature sports balls at the dollar store, which would go perfectly with these tags.(Taken from Polka Dotted Teacher)Too cute! The tags are available here and come with their own coloring page for your students. These adorable tags also come with a coloring page!Because… which kid doesn’t love playdoh.

7. Sweet Treats

I don’t typically encourage sharing food in the classroom simply because many families and students have dietary restrictions and/or allergies.  Therefore, use this gift idea with a good deal of caution.  If you’ve done your due diligence in the beginning of the year, know all dietary restrictions and allergies and have the go-ahead of school’s administration then this might be a nice idea to try out.

I like that these include little awards for the students. If you can find a nut-free chocolate, this would a nice gift. (Taken from Seusstastic)(Taken from Mrs. Will’s Kindergarten)

Hmmm, now I will go ponder teacher gifts, which is equally important :P.
