Games like shadow of war reddit

Loved the Middle Earth series because of its emphasis on killing. I like Spiderman (ps4) and the Batman Arkham series but you can't fight as many enemies in those games.

If you know of any games like Shadow of War let me know. Like for example a super combat heavy Assassins Creed or something like that, I just can't think of many games like that at the moment.

Also, while I do enjoy the Dynasty Warriors series, it's a bit too mindless and button mash for what I'm looking for right now. I want something like Shadow of War.

So guys i really loved Shadow Of Mordor and Shadow Of War, and i (personally) think there is nothing more that those amazing games can offer after playing for like 200 hours. My favorite mechanic is absolutely the orcs recruitment and management system, so i was wondering if there are games that contains similar things. Do know any?

If you really squint, the mercenaries from Assassin's Creed Odyssey are similar, but otherwise no; nothing compares to the Middle Earth games. There's a reason that shit got patented.

level 1

Not at the moment. However, the developers of shadow of Mordor and shadow of war are making a Wonder Woman game. And yes, this game will indeed feature the nemesis system (recruiting armies, orcs having different personalities, cheating death and so on.)

level 2

Feels weird to put the Nemesis System in a Wonder Woman game, since i dont know how they'll use it..? maybe they will remove the "recruit people" part since.. Why the fuck would Wonder Woman recruit people to help her and keep the "personalities, cheating death etc" aspect of the Nemesis System for the criminals or whatever are the enemies of the game

As far as i know, Warner patented the Nemesis System, and as said, it will be applied on a Wonder Woman game, which feels really weird. I'm looking forward to this tho, let's see. I would really like to see the Nemesis System on a Mafia themed game. Not necessarily the Mafia franchise yk. I mean, it makes sense. People in Mafia tend to be disposable and die very often. Would be interesting to see how it would work.

Yeah that would be really cool, thank you for answering!

Ghost of Tsushima has fantastic combat, fun stealth and awesome exploration so I definately recommend that.

Batman arkham knight is also a great game with similar gameplay. The combat is basically a much more optimised and smooth version of the shadow of war/mordor combat and the stealth is great too. Most notably, the traversal is so much fun. You fling yourself over rooftops and fly around in Gotham city. The batmobile is also in the game, quite overused but It's still quite fun as well.

If you dont mind older games, try ac brotherhood. One of the best ac games. The parkour is so satisfying, the combat is easy but its fun. The stealth can be a lot of fun too.

Ok , I just finished the end of the "Shadow Chores(wars) " and got my 3 minute cutscene and man it was one hell of a ride. At times it got repetitive but overall I feel this is nemesis system incorporated with building an army of fantasy warriors just has me blown away. Anyone know of any games that have an army building system similar too SOW?

Not looking for hardcore realism, I'm into the whole orcs , dragons, and mythological creatures thing. I tried googling but closest thing I found was assassins creed .

Is the online fortress siege worth doing? I haven't tried it due to time constraints any help is appreciated 😁

I made an account just to ask about this lol

Never seen any game with a system like shadow of war, but I love shadow of war and some other games I loved that had teammate control were:

Freedom fighters (never talked about but super underrated) also had a great system for recruiting and giving orders

The original Mass Effect trilogy has a great system for controlling your team during missions

SWAT also had a great system for controlling teammates during missions

Rainbow six Vegas 2 also had a good system for controlling teammates during missions

These games are nothing like shadow of war, but I liked all these games for the same reason: teammate control and non-linear ways of tackling missions

I love this game but after completing it, I’m sick of online conquests. I already played Shadow of Mordor and the Batman games. Anything close to this? I love the nemesis system btw.

You could try Assassin’s Crees Odyssey, while not really what you’re looking for it may scratch that itch since it has the mercenary system.

level 2

The mercenary system kind of stinks

If you like strategy games, check out XCOM 2 War of the Chosen. Its a great game, and the Chosen, while not as sophisticated as Nemesis, have that same kind of feeling as having rivals in SoW.

level 1

Spider-Man has a similar combat system. Square to attack, Triangle+Circle when your Focus ("Might") is full for an instant finisher.

It got pretty good reviews, but personally, I didn't care for it. You might think differently.

level 2

Thanks! I’ve been a maybe on that. I’d buy in a heartbeat if it had a nemesis like system. For some reason any game without it is boring to me now.

The Mad Max game by WB is similar. No nemesis system though

Assassin's Creed Valhalla The Assassin's Creed franchise has a lot in common with Shadow of War, and the latest AC release is no different, except it brings even better visuals and more polished gameplay than what its predecessors could offer.

Which is better Shadow of War or Mordor?

Of the two games, Shadow of Mordor can be considered the better Lord of the Rings game. Despite its flaws, it's still a great title to play for those who enjoy some fun RPG action and the Lord of the Rings universe. On the other hand, Shadow of War does feature some excellent gameplay and a better open world.

What is Nemesis system?

For those who don't know, the Nemesis System is a unique mechanic that essentially relies on a military-like hierarchy of NPCs that can remember player actions.
