I have a Roku and can't get narrator to go away on some shows/movies. I've logged in and logged out both accounts. Restarted the Roku. Checked for updates. Nothing is working. Am I missing something. I tried settings in all 3 places but no avail.

Check that you have Descriptive Audio turned off. You may have to press the star button during the show and change your sound selection from "English (Descriptive Audio)" to just "English"

May be Screen Reader" in "Accessibility" in your settings. Make sure its off/disabled. You used to be able to turn it on and off by hitting the * button on your remote 4 times. You can disable that shortcut here.

Maybe Audio description is enabled? It's an accessibility feature for the blind. On a title that has the narrator, try going to * button > Accessibility & captions > Audio track and switch to a different track labelled English.

OMG I had this happen with Amazon Prime, are you watching on Ruku but with the Amazon Prime app to launch HBO and others? If so it's Prime! I forget what the setting was but it drove me crazy lol, my son came to watch a movie with me and I thought the narrator belonged - nope lol.

Thank you ! I got paramount fixed. It was under speech reader and a different "English" saying. I'm still working on HBO max
@infomavn
Are you sure it is the Screen Reader/Audio Guide (This voice basically reads the text on the screen and verbally alerts you of changed Settings.)
There is another feature that is more of an Audio Narrarator that describes what is occuring on the screen during a movie/show. (ie. Jack jumps over the hill, falls down, kind of thing).
Normally to disable this, you press the * button during the show, select Accessibility and Captions, then select the Audio Track. (sometimes you have to toggle between the different English tracks to discern which one includes the narration). For HBO Max, the audio track used to include the words "Descriptive".
Hopefully that is the cause of your issue.
