Far Cry 5 has a secret ending that can be seen within the first few minutes of starting a campaign. Like Far Cry 4 before it, all players have to do to unlock the alternate ending is not follow instructions. Just sit and watch and soon the closing credits will be rolling before you even kill your first cultist.

How To Unlock Far Cry 5 Secret Alternative Ending
The Far Cry 5 secret ending can be unlocked once players enter the cultists' church during the opening sequence. Once inside, players will be prompted to press A/X to handcuff Joseph Seed. If you want to see the alternate ending, don't press the button. Keep waiting while your partners shout at you to just put the handcuffs on. After about a minute or two of waiting, the sheriff with the great mustache will poke his head into the frame and tell everyone to give up and just go home.
The game ends with the lawmen walking away from the cult, and the credits roll shortly after. That's it! To see the secret ending in full, watch the video above.
Far Cry 4 vs Far Cry 5 Secret Endings
The secret ending of Far Cry 5 isn't quite as dramatic as the one for Far Cry 4. The previous game saw players actually teaming up with Pagan Min, the game's main villain, to fly off into the sunset and shoot rebels. It also took a number of minutes to actually unlock, but Far Cry 5 has thankfully reduced most of the waiting time to see its secret ending.
There is another way to see the credits without technically beating Far Cry 5, which is right at the end. I won't spoil that ending yet, but players will be put in a similar situation from the start, and given another choice. We'll discuss the Far Cry 5 ending and explain its meaning in a different article, once players have had a chance to play the game, so be sure to check back with us soon.

How to see every ending in Far Cry 5.
Far Cry 5 endings continue a tradition of multiple outcomes as part of the modern entries in Ubisoft's open-world shooters.
Though two endings will present themselves in the story naturally, there is one secret Far Cry 5 ending that is easily missed from near the start of the game.
That makes for three endings in total. Right now there's no hint of any more, so don't expect any super secret ending as with Far Cry 4 - unless, of course, Ubisoft has something special up its sleeve.
Be wary of Far Cry 5 story spoilers before you proceed. Otherwise, if you don't mind spoilers of another variety, here are 23 Easter Eggs you may have missed:

How? There is a button prompt near the start of the game, where you must arrest Far Cry 5's primary antagonist, The Father.
This is actually a choice, as if you decide to ignore it and wait for a while, you can end the game prematurely and see the credits roll.

Play through the story as usual, and you'll eventually have one final encounter with The Father in a mission named 'Where It All Began'.
As part of it you'll face a choice - to Resist or Walk Away. Both of them lead to different endings.
'Resist' is the choice you are 'supposed' to take, but is the 'good' and 'bad' ending is up for debate, as both have pretty dour outcomes whichever you decide.
Watch the 'Resist' ending:
And the 'Walk Away' ending:
Of course, if you choose to not watch the endings online and experience them for yourself, you can replay the final mission over and make the other choice to watch it in-game.
Whatever you choose, it's still possible to continue exploring the open world, so don't worry about a point of no return.
