Nov 4, 2014 hi i'm new to the community as i just purchased a 2014 ranger crew eps white lightning. i was wondering if anyone has figured out a way to increase the top speed? it gets up to 50 quickly and then you can feel it let off so i am assuming it has a computer limited top speed. any advise would be appreciated.

It has an RPM limiter but not a speed limiter. If you hit the limiter the engine will misfire, like a stutter box on a race car. Joined

You are right it has speed rev limiter. It doesn't cut out. The foot feed has plenty of room to go faster let up then you can feel it. The crew is detuned. It will go 50mph with 1 to 4 people windshield up or down. You can have it reprogrammed.

Well, after more research it appears that changing to a 900 XP ECU will gain the top speed from 50 to 60. Some say it is RPM limited but it appears to indeed be speed limited if yours is only turning 4600. Never heard of one being speed limited, but it is easy to do with an ECU.

There is a throttle limiter on them that will give you full throttle for a second or two, then pulls you back to about 1/2. I can't remember where I saw it, but someone makes a bypass kit for it. Still only going to get about 60 out of it due to the gearing, but should pull closer to 7000 RPM on a 900 engine at full throttle if limiter removed. You could
probably just get the ECM reprogrammed with a RZR tune and it will do most of it, but I don't think it will disable the throttle limiter.

reflash? Anyone get a solution to this yet? Older years had restrictor plate in the intake tube or at the manifold, but I think the 14 and after is done at the ECM. Also heard the throttle body only opens to 70% according to Bikeman performance and their research. Lookinf to do something to mine, as well. Probrably would need to re
clutch it afterwards.

Check with Alba Racing. It sounds like thy have the ability to reprogram and maybe remove it.
