A peck is equal to eight quarts or about 53 cubic inches. If your tomatoes are about three cubic inches (about the size of a Baseball), there are about 17 tomatoes in a peck. There are a lot more cherry tomatoes in a peck!

There are 4 pecks to a bushel, so you need a quarter bushel, or a 2-gallon bucket full of tomatoes. The pounds or number of tomatoes depends on their size. If not stated, you can usually assume medium (whatever you think that is).

Hi
Can any tell me how many tomatoes are in a peck of tomatoes? I have a recipe for Governors Sauce and want to make it and it requires a "peck" of tomatoes. I have no idea how many that is? Can anyone help? Many thanks !
One Peck is 1/ 4 bushel or 2 gallons, dry measure. How many tomatoes in a peck depends on the size of the tomatoes.
