How old is the girl from Squid Game doll?

Please introduce yourself, tell us what you do, why you do it, and what you want people to know about you.

“Red light, green light!” These four words have changed my world!

  • How old is the girl from Squid Game doll?

Hello, I am Reagan To! I voiced the Squid Game Doll and Ga-Yeong in the English dub of the series on Netflix. I had no idea how popular the show was until my mom found my voice everywhere on social media. When I saw how excited my parents got for the show, I felt so grateful for the chance to voice many more characters and share more stories with everyone in the future!

What qualities make you different and unique from everyone else in the industry?

Being happy and giving all my best! Since dreaming about being an actress, I learned to really take each opportunity seriously. I remember when I was in the hospital 5 years ago, I felt really scared!

I was holding my Hello Kitty plushie and wanted to treasure every minute with my parents. In my performances or auditions, I think back to my precious time staying strong with my family in the hospital, and it inspires me to keep my mind focused on the role.

I know time feels different for everyone, so I try to take it all in whenever I get to visit studios for auditions so I can give my best every time!

Describe THAT moment when you realized you wanted to do what you do now. Who did you tell first? What has it been like since that moment?

When I was 5 years old, I was hospitalized in the ICU. In my room all by myself, the television was the only thing that took away my fears and kept me happy during my hospital stay. I remember how much the shows pulled me away, out of my bed, even when I had so many tubes all around me.

I promised myself and my parents that when I got through it, I would hold onto my dream to become an actress to inspire others! Since my hospital scare, I have put all of my heart into that dream of being a performer. From short films to voice acting, I learned giving my best in my roles makes me more excited to continue to chase my dream.

You started at such a young age. What was your first job in the industry and what did you learn from it?

Oh, I remember I was only 5 years old when I landed my first role on Jane the Virgin! It was so magical to meet all of the actors. Even though I was so excited to see my name on the trailer, I learned a lot about staying professional in the industry from the production team.

I had been looking for some sports that could keep me healthy, so when while we were waiting on set together, Gina Rodriguez showed me her dancing videos. I was shocked by how crazy talented all the actors were!

That really inspired me, and I told my mom right away that I NEEDED to start dancing. Since meeting Gina, I started taking dance really seriously. I still dance every day now, and I always look forward to competitions!

Squid Game broke records as Netflix’s most watched show. How did you feel about the worldwide reaction to the show?

Wow—I am so happy to be part of this project! The robot doll was a really difficult character to portray. It makes me so happy to see the recognition and awards for the amazing talent and performers behind Squid Game.

I see and hear the doll’s English voice sampled on SNL and in music, and I am humbled by its success! When I voiced different characters for Squid Game, we didn’t even know the name of the show, so I actually had no idea until my parents watched it and started to think “how come the voices are so familiar?” It was my voice! I still can’t believe how successful the show has been.

Aside from voice acting, you’re also an award-winning ballroom dancer and model. Where do you see your career heading in the future?

Since my first role on Jane the Virgin, I have learned a lot about my career from many actors and performers. I had the opportunity to perform with Channing Tatum and Rami Malek on Jimmy Kimmel Live! Even though many people are easily starstruck, I remember how humble the actors are when they are on set, and they were so friendly and kind with all the staff and other performers.

The experiences taught me a lot about how important it is to stay happy in both dancing and acting. If I stay true to my performances, I know that I can really reach my goals!

What has been the biggest challenge you’ve had to face so far and how did you overcome it?

Competing in ballroom dancing has taught me a lot about facing feedback. My teachers taught me how important it is to keep focusing on the journey and to just keep dancing.

I find myself doing my best when I focus on how I can improve, and not on how people think of my performances. In both acting and dancing, I learned how strong I can be if I braved through the negative thoughts and be more of myself.

If you had to pick the top 3 people you’d want to meet that could take your career to the next level…who would those 3 people be?

It would be my dream to meet my idol, Jojo Siwa! It would also be amazing to work with director Chloé Zhao on a project.

I also remember watching Dove Cameron and how many emotions she portrayed in Liv and Maddie. I would love to meet and work with Dove Cameron!
