“Hello!”
— One of Balloon Boy's few spoken words,
Five Nights at Freddy's 2
Balloon Boy, often abbreviated to BB, is a human child-like animatronic, a major antagonist, and one of the toy animatronics of the Five Nights at Freddy's series, first appearing in Five Nights at Freddy's 2. He serves as the balloon vendor of the newly refurbished Freddy Fazbear's Pizza of 1987. After the pizzeria was only open for a few short weeks, it was then closed down, and Balloon Boy, along with the rest of the toy animatronics, was scrapped due to possible malfunctions.
Physical Appearance
“FIVE NIGHTS AT FREDDY'S Graphic designed animatronic child wearing blue pants, red and blue vertical stripped shirt, and brown shoes; holding yellow and red striped balloon, and "Balloons!" sign.”
— Scott Cawthon's page,
"Intellectual Property Rights
(IPR)"[1],
Balloon Boy is a human-like animatronic with a round body, peach-colored skin, large blue eyes, an orange triangular nose, red-brown hair, and a toothy grin. Like the other new animatronics, he has blushed cheeks, which are colored rosy red.
He wears a red and blue vertically striped shirt with two black buttons down the middle. The propeller cap he wears bears the same pattern. He wears blue pants and simple brown shoes. His arms are stubby and thin with fingerless, round hands. In his right hand, he holds a large, red-and-yellow striped balloon, and in his left hand, he holds a rectangular sign that reads "Balloons!"[2]
In Five Nights at Freddy's: Help Wanted, Balloon Boy's design is slightly altered. His skin color is more tan than peach, his eyelids appear purple instead of tan, and his face structure is significantly different.
In Five Nights at Freddy's AR: Special Delivery, Balloon Boy's design remains the same as his original; however, for realism purposes, his design receives specular reflection.
Personality
Suggested by the few utterances that Balloon Boy makes throughout the course of the franchise, he seems to be a shy sort of character, and judging by his laughter, he looks cheerful but has more of a prankster side.[3] Due to the fact that his only lines of dialogue include him saying "Hello," "Hi," and laughter, Balloon Boy's personality is not clearly specified. Despite this, his personality can still be determined by his body language and his behavior. He is usually seen being troublesome and causing havoc to the player, he acts like some sort of bully and feels no remorse for his actions, instead just gradually enjoying them.
