How do I record the internal metronome in Ableton Live 9 as a single track? I want a export a track with music but also have the click in the mix as well.
Any help is appreciated, thank you!

This isn't going to work for time signature and tempo changes. Even if it could, it's not as simple as dragging out a line of MIDI.

I would upvote this twice if I could.

Download soundflower. Send your Live output to soundflower, and then select soundflower as an input. Then record with the metronome on.
Or use a microphone. Or I'm sure the audio file for the metronome sound is availble in the macOS .app package or somewhere on a Windows machine.

Audacity can record stereo mix even if you don't have that option via WASAPI

I create a MIDI track, throw a drum rack in there and then draw the click in. We do this so I can sound a REALLY LOUD click to my drummer.

Hmm, thats a good idea, but it could use up unnecessary amounts of CPU (although insignificant, every little bit counts).
Im sure theres a way you can route lives metronome to a channel.

what happens if you set a track to 'resample' and then sent the CUE output to the same outs as the Master? can you send the CUE out to a track? I don't recall, don't think you can.

That might work, will have to try it out later. I know that ive done this before, but i cant remember :S and i think it was the improper way of doing it i.e routing it out the soundcard then back in.

on a mac, dont know for pc
you can find the the metronome audio files by going into applications and right clicking on your live icon and choose "show package contents"
then contents/app-resources/misc/metronome/samples
copy these into a different file location, drag and drop into live

Copy the metronome samples from the Live 'package', put in your favourite sampler, place one on each beat in a midi clip 1 bar long, loop it.

or just render as normal with the metronome switched on. Mine does this if I want it to or it used to.
