I’m an incoming freshman and i’m trying to decide between two schools. I got into both VT and JMU for finance. Leaning towards VT but I was curious what the party scene is like at VT. I know JMU is a big party school I just don’t know how VT stacks up. Partying is not my top priority in college but I think its important that I enjoy my 4 years.
Is it easy to get into parties at VT? And do freshmen get involved?

Blacksburg Gamedays > any party

You either have to rush or join a club that parties a lot tbh. Or just know upper class man who throw down at their own place

Or just walk around Pheasant Run on a Friday or Saturday night. I never really had any issues finding parties, but it does help if you know the right people.
I'll also add that Owens threw some pretty good "employee appreciation" parties while I worked there.

Realistically, you’ll have the join a frat, or one of the few clubs that throw down regularly, to get a true party scene that is on par of what you think JMU is. If you do neither it’s very hard to get into parties here

That's not true at all. 6 years ago, we'd just trawl down the apartment blocks and just walk into parties.

Which clubs party a lot here?

Join the VTCC. Biggest fraternity on campus. Girls like guys in the Corps. Freshman year is best if you join the Corps.

Absolute madlad right here

I hear freshman year is nothing but partying in the corps...

Lol the corps is kind of like a big frat

Your best bet is to rush and pledge a frat.
