Lake City's Greatest Fourth in the North celebration for over 60 years. The Lake City Area Chamber of Commerce welcomes you as our guests for an old fashion, small-town celebration. Free entertainment in the park, beverage tent, vendors, food trucks, children's day, boat and grand parade, fireworks over Lake Missaukee, dog show... just to name a few family fun activities.
For all new visitors to our town come for the first time and leave as a local friend. One of Lake City’s biggest traditions is the annual Independence Day Celebration. The Greatest Fourth in the North brings in thousands of residents and visitors to participate in the 4-day festival packed with free entertainment, family time with the purpose of paying homage to the sacrifices made by the men and women in the Armed Forces.
The festival is well-known for being the Greatest Fourth of July celebration in Northern Michigan. Starting in the days leading up to Independence Day and capping off with the Biggest Small-Town Fourth of July Grand Parade and fireworks display over Lake Missaukee, this festival will offer you many enjoyable experiences for the entire family.
