Makes Space Suits, Won't Travel is a quest in The Outer Worlds.
Overview[]
Walkthrough[]
The player must return to Celeste wearing the various armours she requests, the player must wear both headpiece and clothing. The 3 requested armours are: Iconoclast, Marauder and 'Spacer'. For the Iconoclast and Marauder outfits, the player can simply equip pieces with descriptions that begin with phrases like "Iconoclast helmet." or "Marauder Armor." If the player has completed quests for the Iconoclasts then they will have been rewarded with armor from them; otherwise, these items can be obtained by searching the bodies of dead Iconoclasts and Marauders. Iconoclast and Spacer wear can be purchased from the vendor in Amber Heights. 'Spacer', however is slightly more difficult. Although as with the other outfits, the word "Spacer" usually must appear in the text description; However, Celeste calls Spacer's Choice "trash" and does not want to see it, and items that are labelled as "Iconoclast" or "Marauder" will not count as Spacer's gear. The easiest option is to equip a pair of Brooks & Olson goggles purchased or found on Groundbreaker, and a Ports of Call outfit labelled "Streetwear" or "Day Wear" which can be purchased or found on Groundbreaker. If the player has recruited Ellie or Felix as a companion, equipping a different clothing item on them, and then equipping their original clothing on the player, will also count as "Spacer" clothing for Celeste's purposes.
After completing this section of the quest, Celeste will task the player with tracking down Primal Leather, Raptidon flank hide and Mantiqueen chitin. The latter two of those items can be bought at Sebastian Adam's store. Primal hide can be accquired rather easily in either Emerald Vale (Primal Nest) or on Scylla. Mantiqueens and Raptidons are abundant on Monarch, although both are somewhat difficult to kill, especially in packs. Once the player has the required animal pelts, they can return to Celeste in Byzantium.
Upon getting there, Celeste will thank the player and take the hides, she will then mention the name of the new outfit, Chimaera, and say how she requires a Gold lapel, which is being held at HPS and requires a signature, the player must retrieve it. Speaking with the Postal Workers in HPS reveals that the parcel is being delivered to an estate. Heading to this estate the player discovers the delivery was unsuccessful and that it has been returned to HPS. Alternatively, the lock on the back room in the HPS building can be picked and the parcel taking from the shelf without talking with any of the workers.
Returning to HPS the player will be told that they have to switch windows for the millionth time, and if they comply with this outrageous request they will get the Lapel. Then, returning to Ms. Jolicoeur, the player will find her dead, in the middle of her store. A Corporate Commander will instruct the player to stand back. Pressing further reveals that whatever the Chimaera was supposed to look like, was not in fact legal in Byzantium. As such, being caught red handed with the garment in her possession, an attempt at her arrest was made by the Corporate Troopers, but unfortunately for her, she didn't feel like cooperating, and the guards didn't feel like negotiating, so they shot her. The player has the option to accuse the Trooper of murder and attack, but this understandably a bad idea being that this individual is a high ranking member of Byzantium's Police Force. The other option is to simply call them insane, in which case they say UDL's motto, and walk off.
Looting Celeste's body, the player receives her key, at which point they can enter her office and take the Chimaera from her desk. Doing so completes the quest. Returning to the store later, her body is gone.

Trivia[]
The name of the quest is a reference to Robert A. Heinlein's 1958 novel "Have Space Suit—Will Travel" which itself is a reference to "Have Gun – Will Travel," an American Western series produced by CBS on both television and radio from 1957 to 1963. Star Trek creator Gene Roddenberry wrote twenty-four episodes of the show.
