- Category MOEMS Past Papers
Mathematical Olympiads for Elementary and Middle Schools (MOEMS) is a worldwide math competition, organized by a not for profit foundation with the same name. It is held yearly from November through March with one test administered each month. Tests are given at individual schools and results are sent to MOEMS for scoring. Schools, home schools and institutions may participate in the contest. Two dozen other nations also participate in the competition [source]. You can download MOEMS Division E Problems With Answers and Solutions for practice at the end of the article.
Math Problem solving contests for teams of up to 35 students in grades 4 through 8. It is open only to schools, home schools, and institutes (NOT INDIVIDUALS).
There are two divisions, Elementary and Middle School. Elementary level problems are for grades 4-6 and Middle School level problems are for grades 7-8, though 4-6 graders may participate in Middle School problems. Hundreds of thousands of students participate annually in MOEMS events.
MOEMS® contests may be used in any number of venues that will meet the needs of your school, district, or institute:
- an enriching classroom activity to strengthen problem-solving skills of all students
- a before-school or after-school math program (or even a weekend academy)
- a push-in or pull-out enrichment program
- a district gifted program.
The highlights for students are the five monthly contests, administered from November through March. They become excited by the immediate feedback received from other students all around the globe.
Although an earliest administration date is published, contests may be given at the coordinator’s (PICO) convenience after that date. No traveling to another location; just assure that all students take the contest at the same time in the same place. [source]
