Foster officially joins the MVHS Coaching Staff

Press Release (official 5.20.22)

Mountain View has hired Tim Foster as its new Offensive Coordinator.

“After an extensive process with our search committee we are excited to welcome Coach Tim Foster as Offensive Coordinator at Mountain View High School,” Head Coach John Poitevint said.  “Coach Foster understands the history of Gwinnett County football and has an impressive coaching resumé of success.   We are very excited about Tim and his contagious winning attitude amongst our Mountain View community and our student-athletes.”

A native of Suwanee, Ga., and Peachtree Ridge alum, Tim Foster became head football coach Drew Cronic's first hire at Mercer University when he was named the co-offensive coordinator on Dec. 16, 2019 and coached two seasons as part of Cronic's staff.  Coach Foster was responsible for recruiting numerous Gwinnett talents to Mercer including Archer alum QB Carter Peevy.

Foster prior to Mercer was the passing game coordinator and wide receivers/tight ends coach under Cronic at Lenoir-Rhyne, helping lead the Bears to an impressive 25-3 record and back-to-back South Atlantic Conference championships.  Foster guided the LR Bears to a top 20 ranking nationally in passing yards per completion (15.43) which aided the top scoring offense in the SAC at 42.00 points per game. Overall, the 2019 season was one for the record books for the LR Bears, tying a school record with 13 wins and advancing to the quarterfinals of the NCAA Division II playoffs.

In college, Foster was a two-sport athlete at Maryville – playing tight end/wide receiver and on the men’s basketball team – before earning his bachelor’s degree in communications from the college in 2012.

Foster and his wife, Amanda, have two sons, Jaxon and Levi.
