Since 1999, Music On Main Street showcases a diverse lineup of musical talents, from pop, oldies, rock, to contemporary music. Put on your dancing shoes and head to Main Street for some good toe tapping music, where there is a dance area in front of the stage. Bring a chair and sit back, relax and enjoy the music. Parking lot seating area opens after 5:30, early admission is prohibited. Please leave your pets comfortably at home, Hendersonville City ordinance prohibits animals in the event area. Admission is free. No alcoholic beverages or coolers allowed.

Music On Main, Street Dances and Monday Night Live!, which are organized and hosted by Henderson County Tourism, have concluded for 2022. Summer 2023 concerts will be announced in spring 2023.

At each of these free concerts, music takes place from 7-9pm. You are invited to bring a chair and relax while you enjoy!  The audience seating area opens after 5:30pm.  Admission is free. Alcoholic beverages, backpacks and coolers are prohibited.

In case of inclement weather, the concert will be postponed until 8pm.  If the weather does not improve by 8pm the performance will be canceled.

Music On Main

Music on Main features a diverse line-up ranging from pop, oldies, rock, to contemporary music – there’s something for every musical taste! This free, family-friendly event offers concessions such as hot dogs, ice cream, pretzels and lemonade for sale.

Classic car shows are held in conjunction with Music on Main. The car shows are located in front of the Wells Fargo between Barnwell and Caswell Streets, which will be closed to traffic. For more information about the classic car shows, contact the Carolina Mountain Car Club.

July 4th Celebration Concert & Fireworks

The Hendersonville Visitor Center and Henderson County Parks and Recreation are teaming up to offer a family-friendly 4th of July Celebration. The evening’s activities will include inflatables, kids games and activities, food trucks, and 2 stages featuring live music, with the evening being capped-off with the annual fireworks display.

  • 5pm – The Lonesome Road Band performs at the Historic Courthouse
  • 7pm – BSE Rox performs at the Visitor Center
  • 7pm – Supper Break performs at the Historic Courthouse
  • 7pm – Main Street will be closed to car traffic from 2nd Avenue south to Caswell Street. There will be food trucks, games, face painting, inflatables, a craft corner, giveaways and more.
  • Between 9:15 & 9:30pm – A festive Independence Day fireworks display will take place between 9:15 & 9:30 pm. You are encouraged to find a spot to see the display by 9pm. The launch site is off of South Grove Street, which will ensure prime viewing of the display from South Main Street and the Music on Main concert area as well as many other vantage points on the south side of town near the intersection of Hwy. 225 South and Hwy. 176. A large balloon will be launched the morning of the 4th to signify the visibility of the fireworks show, if you can see the “Big Balloon,” you can see the fireworks from your location.

Street Dances

The Street Dances have been a tradition for over 100 years in Downtown Hendersonville! They began in 1918, at the end of World War I, when the city welcomed home its soldiers from the War by celebrating in the streets, and became nationally known after they were included in the guidebook Blue Ridge Music Trails, Finding A Place In The Circle, written by Fred S. Fussell.

Come hear the sound of fiddles and banjos playing a wide array of toe-tapping-good mountain music. Street Dances also include square dancing led by a caller and special demonstrations by area clogging teams.

Rhythm & Brews

May 19 – September 15, 2022
3rd Thursday of each month / 5:30pm – 9:30pm / Free
South Main Street, Hendersonville, NC

The Rhythm & Brews concerts series brings together live music, a variety of food trucks, and locally crafted beer, wine and cider! These free concerts close part of South Main Street to make room for all the fun, as well as a children’s area with games and activities. Tickets and wristbands, for the purchase of beer, wine and hard cider, will be located at the Downtown Hendersonville tent.

The Rhythm & Brews musical line-up includes established acts as well as up-and-coming artists from around the nation playing a wide range of tunes from southern rock, soul to R&B.

Opening acts will kick off each evening at 5:30pm followed by the headliner performance from 7:30-9:30pm on S Main Street between Allen & Caswell Streets. 

The Inclement Weather Policy is to delay each act by 30 minutes before moving onto the next act. If headline act is unable to perform by 8:00 pm the show will be canceled.  Follow the weather decisions on Facebook page.

Please leave your pets comfortably at home. A Hendersonville City ordinance allows event organizers to exclude animals from the event space for the health, safety and welfare of the community, dogs, patrons, and vendors and their products.

Music by the Lake

Blue Ridge Community College, Flat Rock, NC

Each summer, Blue Ridge Community College offers summer concerts beside the College lake as a gift to the community. These free Sunday evening concerts are scheduled from 5 to 7pm and feature a wide range of musical and vocal groups. The public is invited to bring lawn chairs and picnics to enjoy the music by the lake.

The series location will be on the east side of the lake behind the Technology, Education and Development Center.
