Run for the Zoo 2022 Map

A fast and flat 10k loop, starting and finishing at Chester Zoo. The first 2km are within the grounds of Chester Zoo, passing rhinos, elephants, camels and otters! Kilometres 2 – 9.5 are on closed roads, with the last stretch on a footpath which cuts through the centre of the zoo to the finish line. Perfect for a PB.

BY TRAM Tram 58 “West Coburg to Toorak” runs from William Street in the city center every day, stopping directly outside Melbourne Zoo. 

BY TRAIN Trains run from Flinders Street Station on the Upfield line every day, stopping at Melbourne Zoo’s own Royal Park Station. 

BY BUSBus route 505 from Moonee Ponds to Melbourne University stops outside Melbourne Zoo. 

Car 

Parking is available at the Melbourne Zoo car park off Elliot Avenue. Parking is free after 5:00pm. Parking prior to 5:00pm is available at $2 for 5 hours. Please be aware of peak hour traffic congestion. Overflow parking is available at the State Netball Hockey Centre, accessible via Brens Drive, off Elliot Avenue. The Event Village is a short 5 minute walk from here and parking is free. 

Bike  

Sole Motive will provide plenty of bike parking at the event site. Please make sure to bring your own lock to ensure your bike is secure.  

Will there be an awards ceremony at the end of the event and how will the top 3 place getters be awarded?

Yes, placegetters will be awarded based on gun time rather than the adjusted time for each run (net time). Medals will be presented to placegetters from the stage post-race.
