Something went wrong launching your game Reddit

level 1

This is a known issue - after 5pm PT today (27-May) check the in the Store app for updates. You'll want to make sure that Microsoft.GamingServices is up to date (the new version is 2.53.17003.0) - OR after 9am PT tomorrow (28-May) reboot your PC!

Purchased XBox PC Game Pass today because $1 for 3 months.

However, upon setting up my account and downloading a game, any game. I get an error code that says:

"Something went wrong launching your game.

Error code: (0x80070002)"

I have talked to three support people and they all gave me troubleshooting tips using the command prompt and other various things, but I am still getting this error message.

Another caveat - I own Gears 5 via Steam, uninstalled it, installed it through the XBox app, and even it gave me the same error message, despite it working every single time on Steam.

I was told disk space is the reason I am getting the error, but my drive has 220 gigs of free space available.

This is beyond frustrating, and I really want to try some of the games on the game pass.

Thank you!

Using through xbox app on PC. Whenever I launch the game, that error message pops up. When I unplug my ethernet cable, it launches, but gets stuck on easy anti-cheat loading screen. I can launch the game with EAC disabled, but don't have network functions even after reconnecting to the network, and because EAC is disabled, I can't play multiplay anyway. I've searched everywhere on the web, and nothing seems to work. I've reinstalled the game several times, and reset windows 10 network settings and drivers. I'm real super close to just resetting windows 10 completely.

I keep getting this message every time I try to open Omori on the Xbox app, I have tried terminating, resetting, and repairing the game, and the Xbox app, but it only gives me this error when I try to open Omori, I can open every other game with no trouble, can someone tell me how to fix this.

I got an SSD for my laptop on Friday and I started moving over all of my game from an external HDD to my internal SSD I just got. I moved over 1TB of games over to my new SSD including FH3 and it worked just fine, but when I tried to move FH5 to it it wouldn't work, so I decided to delete it and download it again from the store. Biggest mistake I made.

Now every time I try to launch the game it says "Something went wrong launching your game. Error code: (0x800701b1)". I've uninstalled and reinstalled the game 3 times now, updated my NVIDIA Graphics drivers (already latest version), restarted my laptop, logged in and out of the Xbox App and Windows stores, cleared caches, terminated processes and repaired and nothing seems to work. I'm at a loss and I can't figure anything out. Any help would be appreciated, thanks in advance.

Why does my game keep saying something went wrong?

This error generally occurs when the application got corrupted through an app update. Clearing your Xbox cache may resolve the issue: Turn off your Xbox One. Once the indicator lights on the front of the Xbox One and the console's power brick are off, unplug the power brick from the back of your console.
