After a two-year absence due to the COVID-19 pandemic – marking its first two-year break since the Second World War – the TT returns this May and June.

And for the first time in the event’s history, all of practice and race week will be broadcast live.

The TT first announced its live TV intentions last year, but little was known about it at the time other than it would begin in 2022 and would form part of its new OTT platform.

On Friday the TT revealed full details of its live TV coverage for 2022.

The TT has partnered with Vimeo to create its new OTT platform known as TT+, which will launch this April.

The TT+ platform will be available for free to use on all mobile and desktop devices, with all of its video content outside of live racing free of charge.

The cost of a one-off subscription for practice and race week will cost £14.99, with subscribers gaining access to over 40 hours of live race action.

Complementing the live coverage will be a back catalogue of classic TT races, as well as a new docuseries coming in 2023 and a new feature-length film set to release later this year.

The live TV coverage will be produced by Greenlight, which currently produces the highlights coverage for the TT on ITV4.

The coverage will be fronted by seasoned motorcycle sport presenter Matt Roberts, Formula 1 broadcaster Jennie Gow and Manxman Rick Faragher.

They will present from a new studio to be built in the Nobles fan park on the Island, with punditry provided by ex-TT racers Cameron Donald and Steve Plater, as well as additional reporting from Mark Miller, Maria Costello – who will also be competing at the 2022 event – Sidecar winner Patrick Farrance, retired Austrian racer Horst Saiger, journalist John Hogan and the TT’s fastest female Jenny Tinmouth.

Manx Radio’s coverage of the TT has also been revised for 2022, with ex-MotoGP commentator Steve Day joining Chris Boyd in the commentary box.

ITV4 will continue to have nightly highlights shows for TT 2022.

BikeSocial's Guides to the TT

Join Dean Harrison for a commentated lap of the Island

Ahead of the 2022 Isle of Man TT, BikeSocial's Michael Burton asked for a lap of the Mountain Course with the 2019 Senior TT winner, Dean Harrison, and he kindly agreed to take him.

Who will host the 2022 TT coverage?

Over the previous few years, we’ve all been used to seeing Matt Roberts host the coverage, with insights from TT race winners such as Steve Plater and Cameron Donald, and whilst those three remain involved for 2022, a new host joins the team.

Jennie Gow, known best for hosting Formula 1, makes her debut at the Isle of Man TT in 2022 as she will host the full live coverage via TT+. Jennie will be joined by Matt Roberts, Winter Olympian Amy Williams, whose face will be familiar to TT race fans, and Manxman Rick Faragher.

Your commentating team will be made up of Dave Moore, Andrew Coley, Steve Plater and Cameron Donald.

Can Peter Hickman break the TT lap record?

The wait is almost over, after three long years the Isle of Man TT is just around the corner with Peter Hickman aiming to take his Senior TT crown back from Dean Harrison.

Where can I find TT Radio Coverage?

Are you a nostalgic person and love to listen to all the action on the wireless courtesy of Manx Radio? Well in 2022 you can still do that, but this year it will be slightly different.

Everyone will be used to hearing Roy Moore at Ramsey Hairpin, but for 2022 his voice won’t be heard. Former MotoGP and current Bennetts BSB commentator Steve Day will take the reigns as TT Radio anchor with chief -analyst Chris Boyd next to him. There will also be two expert pundits in the form of Jenny Tinmouth, the fastest lady around the TT course and Maria Costello, the second fastest lady, will join them to offer the racers insight to the listeners.

Down in pit-lane will be the familiar voice of Chris Kinley, a man who will need no introduction to TT Radio fans. His tones have been heard over the radio since 2003 and provides vital insight to the listeners from the pits and paddock. Joining Chris will be local radio presenter Beth Espey.
