I've never spent more than $100. I've bought my last 2 for $50. For most people outside of the racing world, glides are worthless throwaway transmissions. You just need to find someone with that mindset.

They can be found for less. But 2 hunge isn't out of line. They can usually be found around here for about a hundred.

If the core you have found is a good 1.76 core, then $200 is fair. Just make sure that everything still turns free and isn't rusted up. Pull the input shaft and measure it. The 1.76 input shaft should be 12 7/8" long. Then take dial calipers and measure the diameter of the output shaft. If it is a 1.76, it will be 1.170" and if its a 1.82, it will measure 1.145. Also be sure its a standard length glide with the 27 spline output shaft....not the oddball course spline. If it turns out to be a 1.82 or it has the course spline output shaft, the value drops in half. Welcome to Club Hot Rod!
