Start your summer with fun and exciting vibes at the 46th Annual Utah Arts Festival on June 23-26, 2022, at Library Square in downtown Salt Lake City.
Join us for grooving live music from local bands, be inspired by local poets, catch a variety of local and international short films, discover new visual artists, witness the creation of a graffiti mural, and visit our Kids’ Art Yard, where children can make their own artistic creations – this year’s theme: DINOSAURS! Enjoy local food, adventurous treats, and craft beverages.
New to this year, watch 4 different poetry slams, one happening each night of the Festival.
Don’t miss our most musically diverse mix of headliners ever, including Lyrics Born, Kombilesa Mi, The Fixx, Theo Croker, Judith Hill, Esther Rose, Diggin Dirt, Toubab Krewe, and
Leyla McCalla.

Lowrider Custom Car Culture Exhibit: Sept 2nd
Take a look under and over the hood of these custom lowriders, hoppers and bikes. Awards will be given for Best in Show, Best Engine, Best Display and more. Don’t miss the Hop Off to close out the night. Highest Hop goes home with a prize and bragging rights!
Hard n’ Paint - Sunday Sept 4th
Hard-N-Paint is a Salt Lake City basketball league for the youth and adults, bringing authentic basketball to the community since 2012. This exhibition includes a 3-point shootout, slam dunk contest, pick up game (open to the public) and the Hard-N-Paint Street Fashion booth. Sign up for your spot here!
11th Annual Skate Deck Challenge at Urban Arts Gallery
116 S Rio Grande St. – Voting 2nd, 3rd and ceremony on Sept 4th
The 11th Annual Skate Deck Challenge is a vibrant and diverse collection of artwork made using blank skate decks. Local artists are invited to submit artwork—the only rule is that it must be made with a blank skate deck! The result is a colorful and delightful glimpse into the endless creativity of Salt Lake City. Vote on your favorite decks Friday and Saturday with announcement of the winners and grand ceremony on Sunday!
Live Mural Painting

Local muralists and graffiti artists come together for a live painting exhibition interspersed throughout The Gateway. The exhibition is curated by Salt Lake City artist Josh Scheuerman with support from the BLOCKS.

Rahzel
Continuing the Urban Arts Festival legacy of bringing legendary hip hop artists to Salt Lake City, we are pleased to announce this year’s headliners Rahzel and Carnage the Executioner, 8 – 10 pm on Saturday, September 3
Rahzel is a three-time Grammy winner, the undisputed World BeatBox Champion and most famous beatboxer around the globe. Rahzel is the godfather of noise and a long time member of the Roots.
Rahzel is considered one of the founders of beatboxing as we know it today; he has been beatboxing since the early 1980s and gained critical acclaim with his iconic debut album “Make the Music 2000.”
Carnage the Executioner
Carnage the Executioner has been a prolific producer and performer over the last twelve years. He boasts an undeniable resume with numerous quality releases. Although he is a Minneapolis-based hip-hop artist, he has performed in Europe & South East Asia, tours the U.S. His engaging live show has enabled Carnage to steal the hearts of music fans worldwide. As an experienced human beatboxer of over 30 years, Carnage instructs others to use the body as an instrument. He’s well known as the rapper’s favorite rapper.

No outside food or beverage is permitted at the festival.
Food Truck League trucks and tents are located near the north end of The Gateway.
Festival bars serve beer, wine and spirits. You must have a valid ID to imbibe, no matter what your age. Please drink responsibly and get a safe ride home.
ENTRANCES
Urban Arts Festival is a free event. Entrances are at 200 S and 50th N, and 100 S. Attendees will pass a security checkpoint.
No weapons, no illegal substances, no outside food or beverage. All bags and containers are subject to search.
No fliers, handbills, stickers or solicitation is permitted by attendees.
