This article is about the parallel counterpart of Ai. For the original version of Ai, see Ai Ohto.
Ai Ohto (大戸 アイ, Ōto Ai?), or known better as "Parallel World" Ai (もう一人のアイ, Mōhitori no Ai?. lit. "Another Ai"), is the parallel counterpart of Ai Ohto. She is from a parallel world where she did not meet Koito, thus in her committing suicide by drowning herself in the pool.
Appearance
Parallel world Ai looks to be a carbon copy of the original Ai. Unlike original Ai's yellow triangular hairpin, parallel world Ai has an x-shaped grey hairpin. She wears her school uniform; a long-sleeved white collared shirt with a green tie and a dark blue jumper dress to top it all off.
Personality
Parallel world Ai's personality is similar to that of her original counterpart. Due to the bullying spawned from her heterochromia, parallel world Ai is shown to be extremely lonely and self deprecating, not even being able to speak with her mother. Parallel world Ai never met Koito, and as a result she lacked any meaningful social connections. She does not display confidence and resolve of the original Ai, having killed herself before being given the opportunity to develop these traits.

This is something I've been confused about and this episode did not clear things up for me. If anything, they made it more confusing.
We know that Ai said she didn't have any feelings for Sawaki. However, upon getting the bracelet that lets her "see things previously unseen" one could assume she finally was able to confront her feelings and that let her realize that she loved Sawaki. That's why she decides to go back to school and moves her hair out of her eyes (Sawaki complimented her eyes). She also is upset upon hearing that Sawaki and her mom are dating. She dresses up to go see him at the gallery and dresses like her mom (perhaps because Sawaki likes her mom). Then, she gets emotional when saying "you really do like my mom, don't you?" In the latest episode, Sawaki mentions a confession (but I am assuming this was alt Ai's confession as we have never seen Ai confess to Sawaki). All of these signs point to her liking Sawaki.
That being said... she never once says she has feelings for him. In fact, she only says the opposite over and over again. Many of the things I used as examples for why she likes Sawaki could be interpreted in other ways. For example, the bracelet instead of revealing her feelings for Sawaki just revealed that he isn't such a bad guy. She could be dressing up as her mom not to impress Sawaki but to show him she is mature or that she is not afraid to grow up.
