Favonius Sword's Windfall effect can only be activated when the active character equipping this weapon deals a critical hit while on-field.
This means that abilities that are used off-field like Kaeya or Kazuha's Elemental Bursts won't proc this effect even if it crits, until they are
switched back into the field. The energy particles generated can be shared to another character regardless.

Who is Favonius Greatsword good for?
The Favonius Greatsword is an excellent weapon for characters that have a high Elemental Burst cost or who need help in generating Elemental Particles. Take note that the character needs to be on the field in order to trigger the Windfall passive skill!
Is Favonius Sword good for Kaeya?
The Favonius Sword – Four Star
Crits with this sword have a 60% chance of generating Elemental Particles, which are then used to generate six Energy for Kaeya. This will happen once every 12 seconds while in use, which is ideal for Kaeya if you're concentrating on his Energy.
Is Favonius Sword good for Ayato?
9 The Favonius Sword - Four Star
While both of these weapons are good for a main DPS Ayato, this one will give him a 60 percent chance to create Elemental Particles with any Crit hits, and this will in turn generate six Energy every 12 seconds.
Is the Favonius Sword good for Xingqiu?
Alternatively, the Favonius Sword is a good option to consider. Every time Xingqiu would crit with this sword, he would recharge a small amount of energy. It's better for a sub-DPS build, but it can work for a support option if the player has nothing better.
