Michael ‘Audrey’ Myers

Some humans are simply bad seeds. Seeds infused with a distilled and pure form of evil. Michael Myers is one of those seeds. He had no issues with causing the pain of others. Instead, it was exactly what he sought. But even life can be tough on those with minds filled with terror. The difference is just how one goes about to solve those problems. For Michael, he had to kill to find some inner peace. As he took his sister’s life, the police found a silent boy dressed as a clown at the scene.

When one stumbles upon a growing fire, one does not pour gasoline on it. But this was an action taken by officials that had no idea how it would shape this demon in the boy’s body. Sending Michael to a mental institution was a feeble attempt to save the child. Unsuccessful therapy and nightly screams just made him even more introverted and deranged. People hoped that Michael Myers would end up a parenthesis, soon to be forgotten and buried, a failure that soon were to rot away. But then...he escaped.

If you put every Ghostface together in an army, and give them all of the guns and knives they’ve had in the movies, and give them a few hours to prepare + full knowledge + perfect teamwork. They’d all run away, realizing they couldn’t win so Michael wins by default. Well, actually, they probably wouldn’t because of how stupid and/or psycho they all are. Assuming they stay, here’s how I think it would go down...

Michael comes in the front door, Charlie is there with a knife. He lunges at Michael and either gets killed or stabs Michael (due to Michael’s own cockiness over his invulnerability) and then gets killed, probably by one clear-cut stab. Why Charlie first? He’s the dumb lover boy, he would obviously get talked into being the opening act. In the kitchen, Michael finds Billy and Stu. Billy would have a gun and Stu would have a knife. They both try to double team him, with Billy’s shots hitting dead on but not even phasing Michael. Stu would go for the classic “liver” cut, but that wouldn’t do anything but slow Michael down. Myers proceeds to ragdoll them and stab them to death, but gets shot in the back of the head by Mickey. Mickey, who was known to wield a knife and gun, would probably shoot Michael a few more times for good measure. His cockiness would start showing and Michael would catch him off guard and kill him, likely in some elaborate way like the door-hanging. Upstairs, Jill would probably have a really elaborate trap planned for Michael but Michael would survive whatever it was and stab her to death in one of those classic horror movie chick kills. In a bedroom, Michael would find Mrs. Loomis, hiding like the snake she is. Since she primarily uses a gun, she’d shoot at Michael. And being one of the most insane of the bunch, she’d freak out when nothing is working. Michael brutalizes her, and it’s on to the final kill. In either an attic or a basement, Roman will be revealed to have been planning the whole thing the entire time with Walkie Talkies, maps, and irrelevant old films. His planning is all in vain. His standard bulletproof vest protects him for a few seconds until Michael realizes he has it on and then stabs him in the head.

Then Myers moves on to the next house.

Masked serial killers are a thing in horror movies ever since John Carpenter’s Halloween premiered back in 1978. Michael Myers, the movie’s main antagonist, became a pillar of horror cinema and one of the most feared characters ever. Several decades later, Ghostface made his debut in the Screamfranchise, becoming the Michael Myers of the 1990s. From two, who would win in a fight and why?

Michael Myers would undoubtedly triumph over Ghostface. Ghostface is more of a symbol than an actual horror threat, an identity used by several characters to mask their murder sprees. On the other hand, Michael Myers is a genuine threat and a killer with superhuman powers, which makes him vastly superior to Ghostface in every imaginable way.

The rest of the article is going to be divided into three sections. The first two are going to bring an overview of the two characters, in whose scopes we are going to compare their powers, including their signature techniques. Finally, we’re going to bring you a detailed analysis of the two characters to determine which one would win in a direct clash.

Michael Myers and His Powers

Michael Meyers is a fictional character from the Halloween film series, of the slasher genre. He first appears in Halloween (1978) as a 6-year-old boy who murders his older sister and then, fifteen years later, returns to his house to murder his younger sister.

In the original Halloween, the adult Michael Myers – known as the Shape in the closing credits – was played by Nick Castle for the majority of the film, with Tony Moran and Tommy Lee Wallace taking over for the last scene. He was created by Debra Hill and John Carpenter. Michael Myers has appeared in ten films, as well as a novel, two video games, and several comic books.

Powers

Michael Myers is endowed with superhuman strength and predatory behavior when he is in search of victims: consequently, he loses all the characteristics of the human soul. He has been diagnosed with mental disorders such as catatonia, psychosis, and schizophrenia, which likely cause him to have visions and nightmares that lead him to hate and kill people.

Michael’s ability to come back to life from the dead is, according to some, due to his innate fury and his murderous mind. In the post-Carpenter sequels, his semi-divine state is inferred to be due to the Thorn curse, as taken from the sixth film. This “curse” possesses and forces Michael to kill all members of his family and anyone who stands in his way.

Ghostface and His Powers

Ghostface is the name of the serial killer from the Scream franchise. Ghostface’s name comes from the fact that he wears a white mask and a black cloak that makes him look like a ghost. He is one of the most famous serial killers in the history of cinema. He was created by screenwriter Kevin Williamson and first appeared in the 1996 film directed by Wes Craven.

Ghostface is not actually a specific person, but rather an identity adopted successively by several killers during the various films in order to commit their murders in anonymity.

The exact motivations vary depending on who wears the costume, whether it’s revenge or attempting to gain fame, but in the film series, all traditionally have in common the goal of killing Sidney Prescott, the recurring heroine of the series, following a chain of events caused by the latter’s mother.

Modus Operandi

In the first movie (Scream), his preferred method is to phone people by changing his voice. He first makes believe that he made the wrong number and then starts the discussion with the person (often women). He asks very personal questions about his future victim. The latter then wants to hang up but he then becomes aggressive with his cult phrase: “You hang up on me again, I’ll gut you like a fish, understand?”.

He then asks them questions about horror movies and at the slightest mistake, he kills the person over the phone. It is with this technique that he kills Casey Becker and hangs her from a tree with her stomach open.

In the second film (Scream 2), he murders people with the same first name as the victims of the first Woodsboro massacre and attempts to complete the work of Billy Loomis and Stuart Macher.

In the third film (Scream 3), he kills according to the script of the fictional film Stab III (based on the murders committed in the first film). He also uses subtle techniques such as cutting off the electricity and turning on the gas in the homes of his victims. He will send a fax to his victim, who lights a lighter to read it and explodes.

In the fourth film (Scream 4), he films his murders in order to achieve a remake of the first Woodsboro massacre and takes up some characteristics of the first Ghostface by calling his victims before attacking them.

If you actually think this one through, it’s a fairly easy comparison. Let us see what Ghostface has to offer. Not much, actually. It is a secret identity used by several different characters, who hid behind the mask to hide their murders. They’re all regular people with no special powers, with their murderous instincts being their primary assets.

On the other hand, Michael Myers is a real person, and a person who has managed to terrorize a whole town by simply standing and doing nothing (for the most part). He is a skilled and experienced killer, but what really gives him the edge are his superhuman powers and nigh invulnerability or possibly even immortality.

If you look at these facts, Michael Myers is the clear winner here. Ghostface might attack him and stab him, but he wouldn’t be able to kill him, while Michael would have no problem dealing with any of the identities behind the Ghostface mask.
