Week 2 of the 2022 NFL preseason is set to kick off with a stand-alone, prime-time matchup featuring the Bears and the Seahawks. It will mark the first nationally televised game of the preseason, as ESPN's new-look "Monday Night Football" crew will broadcast the contest.
The Bears and the Seahawks are among the offenses in the NFL that have the most question marks. Chicago is coming off a season during which its offense averaged 307.4 yards and 18.3 points per game. Both marks ranked bottom 10 in the NFL and was enough for coach Matt Nagy to be fired after the season.
As for the Seahawks, they have moved on from Russell Wilson and are now hosting one of the league's most uninspiring quarterback competitions. Geno Smith, a nine-year veteran with a career record of 13-21, is facing off against Drew Lock, a 25-year-old who is 8-13 in his three NFL seasons to date.
Smith and Lock both flashed in the Seahawks' preseason opener against the Steelers, but will that last moving forward? And who will win? Seattle should move closer to naming a starter as Lock and Smith see the field against a solid Bears defense.

What channel is Bears vs. Seahawks on tonight?

The Bears vs. Seahawks game will be one of two preseason broadcasts to air on ESPN in 2022. The contest will give the network a chance to test out its new "Monday Night Football" team that consists of Joe Buck and Troy Aikman calling the games after coming over from Fox on new, lucrative, long-term contracts.
Those with cable can stream the contest using the ESPN app. Those without cable will be able to watch the Bears face the Seahawks using a streaming service like ESPN+ or fuboTV, which comes with a free trial.
People with NFL+ — which costs either $4.99 a month r $29.99 a month — won't be able to watch the game live with that service. They will, however, be able to catch a replay version of the game shortly after it comes to a close on Thursday night.

Bears vs. Seahawks start time

Bears vs. Seahawks will kick off at 8 p.m. ET. The game will be played at Lumen Field in Seattle, Wash. It will mark the start of NFL preseason Week 2 and will feature the second installment of a key Seattle quarterback battle between Geno Smith and Drew Lock.

Seattle Seahawks roster outlook
Like in recent history, the Seahawks roster doesn’t look like one of the best in the NFL on paper. Lacking the top-end quarterback that the 12th man has come to enjoy for the past decade, it’s a season of competition for coach Pete Carroll.
The Seahawks figure to have a great running game led by Rashaad Penny and Kenneth Walker III. How Drew Lock or Geno Smith grab command of the passing offense will be far more telling of their success or failure in 2022.
DK Metcalf and Tyler Lockett are one of the best pass-catching duos in football and Noah Fant has legit Pro Bowl potential, but without an elite passer, how impressive will they be?
While there are plenty of questions on offense, the quality of the defense is even less certain. Finishing just outside of a top-10 unit a year ago, if they can’t manage to improve their pass defense, it’s game over. Theoretically, Jamal Adams and Quandre Diggs should give them a fighting chance, but we just haven’t seen the production yet to be big believers. We’ll wait to be proven wrong.

Seattle Seahawks schedule prediction: 4-13, 4th place in NFC West
It’s likely going to be a long season for Seahawks fans. Barring one of the team’s QBs stepping up as Russell Wilson unexpectedly did as a rookie, the Seahawks figure to have one of the worst teams in football. A strong running game could help give them a chance, but if the defense lets opponents air it out, we could see a lot of ugly scores in 2022.
