Have your Facebook posts been turning into 'sale' posts lately?
Yep, mine too! Facebook is trying to be clever and thinks every time you write a $$ figure in your posts, that you are 'selling' an item, which has made it very hard for my #doTERRABOGO peeps this week.
So I thought I would show you how you can fix the issues, without deleting your post. Sound good?
If after you have clicked post, it turns into a sale post, click the right hand corner of your post (where you would usually go in to edit), and click 'turn off sale format'. You're welcome 👌 Let me know if this has happened to you recently!

A close friend of mine turned one of their Facebook posts into a for sale item. It might or might not have been on purpose…
Or at least the end result was sort of intended but not really in the way that Fb set things.
Facebook auto set it such that people would ‘send her an offer’.
Well, that can be great if the thing you are selling is easily understood.
Maybe not so much if not direct. And that raised the question of just ‘how do you get rid of the Facebook for sale format or the make me an offer or Message me, contact me stuff?’
I initially found this older article from mid 2020. It’s over a year old and maybe from a region different than my own. I did not see the same exact options.
Plus, I looked these options up from my phone app. You might see something different on a computer, in a browser or a different device even.
Here’s a quick image guide of what to click to first turn it on and then turn it off(make it go away!)
First I wrote the post and before submitting hit the three dots at the bottom.
Then I selected this option to turn it on
If you want to turn it off just hit the x button before publishing.
Or if you already published then you can edit it or remove the Facebook for sale item later. first edit and click these dots
Then click the option here to ‘Turn off the Sale format’ on your Facebook post.

When you tried to turn off marketplace on Facebook, I think you found it very annoying with this feature. Me too, I don’t post anything for sale, but it’s automatically listed on the Facebook marketplace all day long. Shouldn’t Facebook have an option for users to choose from? What’s even more annoying is that Facebook even catches the “listing on Facebook marketplace may violate our rules” error. So now, let’s solve this problem with Lucid Gen.

According to Facebook’s introduction, the Facebook marketplace is where people and businesses discover, buy and sell items listed on Facebook in their local communities. You can find details here.
Here are the benefits Facebook says it will bring us:
- Reach buyers on Facebook while they’re browsing products.
- Respond quickly with real-time messaging.
- Provide useful information such as product description and price.
- Target buyers on the go with mobile-friendly listings.
But it would be better for Facebook to let us decide for ourselves whether our posts should be listed or not. Still, this kind of automatic push into the marketplace by machine learning would be very annoying for users.

Use //m.facebook.com/ to disable Facebook listing when posting khi
The interface is a bit rough, but it’s okay. Here, I pretend to post about email marketing software that sends mass mail, guys.
This is the result, the same content, but when posted in 2 different versions of Facebook, there was a difference. The Facebook mobile web version is not listed.
But this way also has a drawback in that you will not be able to use text formatting features such as bold text on Facebook when posting to the group. My fix is to post it and then go back to the normal Facebook version on the browser to edit the article and add text formats.
Method 2: Avoid sales keywords
Please understand that Facebook’s AI machine has scanned the keywords on your article > Categorize as a sale or not > If selling, change it to a listing on the Facebook marketplace.
Understanding the principle of Facebook, we can turn off the listing feature when posting. Here are the keywords you should replace in the article when posting.
