How to treat termites in fruit trees

We recently had our old house treated for termites. This consisted of Terminix digging a small trench around our entire foundation and then filling it with the pesticide "Termidor".

I have a few figs planted very close to the house and the treatment most certainly came in contact with the roots, in fact the trench cut right through them. Should we avoid the fruits this year, or forever, as they say this treatment bonds to the soil for up to 20 years? Or will it not effect the fruit at all? My 2 year old really enjoys them, so I need to play it safe.
