Recycling at Home Depot

This store helps divert waste from landfills by accepting CFLs, lead acid batteries, rechargeable batteries, and plastic plant pots for recycling

This store recycles all shrink wrap, contributing to the 780 million pounds that The Home Depot sold to Trex last year. This is used to manufacture composite decking, bringing us one step closer to a circular economy.

LED lights in your local store helped save on energy consumption by 98 million kilowatt hours last year. Many stores also participate in renewable energy initiatives like solar and wind.

The Home Depot's core values are based on doing the right thing for our customers and associates, and this commitment extends beyond our stores to our communities and the environment. We are your partners in environmental sustainability. Learn More.

When are Kids Workshops available at my local Home Depot?

Kids Workshops are hosted in-store from 9am-noon every first Saturday of the month. Kids Workshop registration is not yet available, but kits are available on a first-come, first-served basis, while supplies last.

How do I check my Home Depot gift card balance?

The Home Depot gift cards are a popular choice during the Holiday season, with givers and doers that can be purchased in-store at our brick-and-mortar stores or online at homedepot.com. If you are a recipient, you can check your gift card balance online or visit your local Home Depot store and ask a cashier to check the balance for you. Our gift cards can be redeemed in-store or used to make purchases online with no additional fees.

What additional precautions is The Home Depot taking in light of COVID-19?

As part of our normal practice, our stores and other facilities are cleaned and sanitized daily. Following guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), we've increased the frequency of cleaning and general hygiene maintenance in stores and other locations. We've also stepped up our efforts to disinfect high-traffic and high-touch areas like self-checkout, door handles, and bathrooms, as well as posting signage about handwashing and other preventative actions.
We're promoting social distancing in our stores and distribution centers, which includes stores limiting the number of customers inside at any given time. In addition to training our associates on social distancing, we've placed distancing markers at some of our checkout counters and are making overhead announcements on our store PA systems asking customers to practice social distancing.

The service is horrible. Noone around to help. And if you find someone they Are trying to help someone else. Then If you manage to find what you came for, you go to check out and have to put yourself to work and check yourself out because they don’t have any cashiers!!! Unbelievable!!! HD isn’t using people to help on the floor so where dod the help go? The ones that do want to help are overwhelmed and over worked!

Super Employee Assistance and Great Rental Tools

I had a great experience with renting power washers at this store. Bob at the desk was incredibly helpful and knowledgable. He went way out of his way to help us and was a pleasure to deal with. When I was returning the equipment I found myself looking for him and as luck would have it he was walking across the parking lot with a sandwich in his hand. Even though he was on his lunch hour he took the time to check the equipment back in and assisted another associate with lifting the equipment out of my SUV. Both employees were easy to work with and pleasant. I would hire Bob in a minute. He is really a shining example of a great employee and person. He will go far in the business world.

The paint department at this store is above and beyond in their customer service and knowledge. I shop several Home Depot stores, depending on where I'm working at the time, and this paint department far exceeds the others.

I have purchased over $4,000 worth of merchandise from this store. The last purchase I made I was offered $75 off if I signed up for a Home Depot card. I said yes, and the clerk proceeded to try to accomplish that. Three different times and machines later (and 40 minutes later) I was told that the system couldn't process my request. I paid with my own money and asked if I could still get the $75 off since they had wasted much of my time. The clerk said no, and that was that. I will not be shopping here again.
