The latest episode of the Disney+ Star Wars series The Book of Boba Fett sparked increased interest in the Power Rangers, of all things.

"The Streets of Mos Espa" introduced a quartet of young street gang members, each with colorful speeder bikes, and fans were quick to draw comparisons to the Power Rangers franchise.

While many fans seem displeased with the Mighty Morphin Mandalorian set-up, most were elated to see longtime Robert Rodriguez collaborator Danny Trejo show up in The Book of Boba Fett as a rancor trainer.

The Book of Boba Fett unfolds across two timelines: one that explores how Fett escaped the sarlacc pit between Return of the Jedi and The Mandalorian, and another that explores the aftermath of Fett murdering Bib Fortuna and assuming control of Jabba the Hutt's criminal empire on Tatooine.

Fett isn't alone in his new endeavor, as he's joined by Fennec Shand, whom Fett saved from certain death in Season 1 of The Mandalorian. "[Fett and Shand are] bonded by the fact that they both lived through a near-death experience," actor Ming-Na Wen said. "And there is a sense of code that they both abide by. So it's going to be really interesting to see how their dynamics grow in The Book of Boba Fett. I think that's all I can say. The rest is... you have to watch. We are the anti-hero. I like playing an anti-hero. You get away with more, I think."

At the time of this writing, The Book of Boba Fett is only expected to run for a seven-episode season. However, Rodriguez suggested the door could remain open for more depending on the response from fans. "If people really love it, I'm sure they'd want to make more," he said.
