Bose SoundLink Flex vs JBL Flip 5 Reddit

My understanding is most speakers aren’t really shining or performing at their best until you hit around 60% gain/volume.

I have yet to hear a Bose portable speaker perform well on the beach. Ocean sounds overwhelm them.

Indoors Bose is the move from this list.

Their software package is phenomenal if you get 2 or more Bose speakers to play with together.

I have been going back and fourth on these two for the past few days. Now just for the record I am no audiophile. I just love listening to music and jamming out. I go to the beach and cookouts a lot and wanted to pick one up. I love a good punchy sound but not when bass is overtaking the mids and vocals. I like the sound to be more clean and balanced. Between these two, which would be a better fit based on my personal preference? Thanks!

The Charge 5 has clean & clear mids and highs, and the bass isn't overwhelming, imo.

Charge 5 is a great speaker. Probably the best after charge 3

If you want more power for outside party’s then the Charge 5. If you want to sit in your bedroom with your white coat and clipboard then the Bose. The Bose has a slightly more detailed sound from what I picked up on YouTube. The JBL has a broader appeal and as JBL said themselves a bolder sound. The Charge 5 maintains a good degree of detail to keep you engaged in the music without commanding all of your attention giving you more time to go social. Both are excellent speakers but for the extra power and sheer robust build and overall everyday application, the JBL. Update: I forgot to mention that the JBL is easy to get inside and swap out the battery too. There are currently 10,000mAh batteries available for the Charge 5 which will up the play time to around a possible 24 hours! No chance of that with the Bose I’m afraid. In regards to mobility, I personally don’t mind the size of the Charge 5 as some might. It’s on the bigger side but then for a day trip a 25ltr backpack would be sufficient never mind an actual car. I can’t wait to hear the Boombox 3!

level 2

I like that the Charge 5 has both a powered midrange and tweeter. The Bose is asking a lot of a single driver, but the sound is quite nice for low to moderate listening volumes.

It’s also considerably more portable which is something definitely to mention.

Bose Soundlink Flex. Had both, returned the Charge.

Bose Soundlink Flex for sure hands down!

Had Charge 5 for one week before I turned it back.

Which one should I get? I like the look of the emberton better out of these three and plan to use it pretty much only indoors in the shower and kitchen for when I am cooking something. Out of these three, the Emberton is the oldest being from 2020 and the others were released just last year so i'm not sure if the Emberton would be an ill-advised purchase being somewhat older technology. These speakers are all the same price in my area ($120) so I was wondering which one would be the best purchase for sound quality.

I mainly listen to music like rock and pop so not a lot of bass but more emphasis on vocals and instruments.

(I'm coming from a JBL Flip 4 I've had for a few years now so I'm hoping for an improvement in sound quality of some sort with this upgrade).

The Sony xb23's when paired are beast. Also connects to sony music app and you can use the equalizer and have quick access to your music apps. You can pair up to 100 of them together

From all the reviews I’ve watched, it seems like the Soundlink flex has fantastic sound. However, I’ve heard reviewers say it’s not crazy loud. Also, it is using Bluetooth 4.2 instead of the latest 5.2. That will affect the range at which you can put the speakers apart and how far you can put your phone from them. The other two speakers are also great sounding, but all of these are kinda small. If your looking for something to fill a backyard and can pair with another speaker, I’d give the JBL charge 5 or the Soundcore Motion Boom a look. The Soundcore Trance could be a good budget option for pool parties as well, although it is a little larger than the others.

Jbl are the best outdoor speakers option in my opinion.

Sure, bose is good, Marshall its also good. But jbl has Waterproof Great battery Powerbank option Great sound Different sizes at great prices

Also, if you want something loud, check the new soundboks Go

Jbl is terrible. Buy Soundcore.

All tested equal in "not bad, not top" sound quality. Surprisingly, the Roam "disappointed" in audio, usually Sonos hardware rate extremely high.

Also, the Sony xb23 is rustproof, waterproof, shock proof, salt water resistant and has up the option to be switched from mono/stereo in the app. Bluetooth 5.0 I think

Is Bose sound better than the JBL?

JBL speakers come with subwoofers, and the bass effect is better than Bose speakers. On top of that, the JBL speakers are also larger than Bose speakers, and their radiators have higher vibration levels to emit better and deeper bass tones.
Though it's a bit pricey, the Bose SoundLink Flex is stylish, sounds good, and delivers a nice amount of thump. Being thoroughly water-proofed, it's also a great speaker for around the pool or at the beach. It's one of–if not my favorite–speakers of this size.

Which Bluetooth speaker is better than JBL?

Tribit StormBox Fully waterproof, it costs about $50 less than the JBL Flip 5 and produces bigger sound and has up to 20 hours of battery life. Tribit's XSound speakers are probably a better value, but the Stormbox is more stylish.
To turn up or down the amount of bass or treble produced by your product: In the Bose Music app, tap the Audio button. in upper-left corner then select the desired product.
