ORIGINAL: To provide a safer environment for our fans and significantly expedite entry into the venue, Charlotte Metro Credit Union Amphitheatre and PNC Music Pavilion has implemented a new policy for the 2017 concert season that limits the size and type of bags that may be brought into the venue.

Charlotte Metro Credit Union Amphitheatre and PNC Music Pavilion STRONGLY encourages fans to not bring any type of bags, except those outlined.

Beginning the 2017 season, fans will be able to carry the following style and size bag, package, or container into the venue: Small clutch bags, approximately the size of a hand, with or without a handle or strap can be taken into the venue with one of the clear plastic bags.

Prohibited items include, but are not limited to: purses larger than a clutch bag, coolers, briefcases, backpacks, fanny packs, cinch bags, luggage of any kind, computer bags and camera bags or any bag larger than the permissible size.

Fans will continue to be allowed to bring lawn chairs with legs no taller than 9" that do not have roof attachments or leg attachments. Small blankets and beach towels are still permitted on the lawn as well.

Venue management reserves the right to add, delete and interpret the above policy for the safety of guests, artists, and staff.

We are, finally, ready to step into the heart of concert season. After remaining closed throughout 2020, PNC Music Pavilion is set to host two large shows this weekend, kicking off a busy season. But don’t expect everything to be the same as it was the last time you attended a show. Live Nation has announced some big changes that you need to know. All of these changes are in effect for shows at all LiveNation-owned venues. This includes PNC Music Pavilion, the Charlotte Metro Credit Union Amphitheater, The Fillmore, and The Underground.

  1. Clear Bag Policy: I think most people anticipated this was coming at some point, as NFL Stadiums, other sports venues, and many festivals have been using a clear bag policy for years. This policy mimics the one used by the NFL, where patrons can bring in clear bags up to 12x6x12 inches or small (non-clear) clutches no larger than 4.5×6.5 inches. While most venues use this policy for security, in the wake of the pandemic LiveNation hopes this will reduce employee contact with guest’s personal items.
  2. Mobile Ticketing: There will be no more paper tickets. Some artists have used this policy in recent years but now the entire venues will be on mobile ticketing. You will need to have a Ticketmaster or LiveNation login and it is easiest if you have the app on your phone. Tickets will be available in the app and can be added to your phone’s wallet as well. As barcodes will “rotate” screenshots of the tickets will not be permitted. The venues recommend transferring individual tickets to each member of your party in case you separate. Without the ticket, individuals will not be able to access their seats.
  3. Contactless Payment: Cash will no longer be accepted at any of the venues. All payments will be via credit or debit cards. If you do not have a card machines will be available to take your cash and issue a “gift card” in that amount. Cards will be accepted across the venue as well as at other businesses so you will not have to spend the entire amount you put on them.
