Baby Makes Four is part two of the thirty fourth episode of Clifford the Big Red Dog. Show
SummaryJetta gets a new baby brother and at first is extremely proud to be a big sister. But when she realizes this means she will now have to share the spotlight with the baby, she goes all out to get back her position as the center of attention. She eventually learns, however, that being a good big sister is far more rewarding than being the star of the show. PlotVaz has a new camera and is excitedly taking a lot of pictures with it. As he's walking with Charley and Emily Elizabeth, they come to Jetta's house. He shows her his camera and Jetta informs him that he's not the only one who has something new. She has something new too - a new baby brother! His name is Cosmo and Jetta says that he looks just like she did when she was a baby. Jetta's Mom explains that when Cosmo is a little older, they're going to have a party to celebrate his arrival. Vaz tries to shoot a picture of Cosmo, but Jetta gets in the way and all he gets his a picture of Jetta's face blocking Cosmo. The day of the big party finally comes and Jetta is in her house greeting the guests. She wants to perform magic for them, but nobody seems to be interested. They're bringing presents and Jetta wonders if any of them are for her, but as she reads the tags, she sees that they're just for Cosmo. As more guests arrives, they keep giving her presents to hold. Jetta ends up holding a large stack of presents and asks again if anyone wants to see a magic trick. Everyone is too busy looking at Cosmo though to care about Jetta's magic trick. Outside, Clifford is asking Mac what it's like to have a new baby in the house. Mac tells him that it's great. The best thing about it is the free food. Everyone is so busy paying attention to the baby that they lose their appetite. Mac demonstrates. Jetta has been passing out burgers to the guests and also trying to get their attention with her dance moves. As one of the guests sets down a partially eaten burger to pay attention to Cosmo, Mac slinks over and grabs it. Jetta manages to get Mr. Bleakman interested in a burger, but then he too puts it down to see Cosmo. Mrs. Handover thinks that Cosmo likes Mr. Bleakman. Mac sneaks over again and grabs the hamburger. Mr. Bleakman, finally finishing up with Cosmo, says that he's hungry and wants to go back to eating his burger. He finds that it's gone, but Jetta's more than willing to give him another one. He thinks that it's really great and Jetta, upset that she didn't notice her dance moves says that she'll show him something that's really great. She heads into her house. Outside, Cosmo is finally settling down to sleep. Jetta's Mom is glad he's finally going to sleep and everyone gathers around to watch him. Then, Jetta comes out, having rigged up some sort of awful drum contraption that looks an awful lot like the one on the cover of this book here. She bangs on it like crazy. Everyone wonders what the awful noise is and she manages to wake Cosmo. Her Mom admonishes her for what she's done and Jetta heads unhappily back inside her house. Emily Elizabeth follows after her, saying to Charley and Vaz that she's going to help her. Inside, Emily Elizabeth talks with Jetta. Jetta grumbles on about how she just doesn't understand why Cosmo is getting all the attention. Cosmo doesn't do anything but lie around, while she's so interesting. Emily Elizabeth tells her that maybe it was just Cosmo's turn to get attention. After all, he's brand new and he is pretty cute. Jetta says that of course he is, he's her brother. Outside, Cosmo is still crying. Nobody can do anything to comfort him. Jetta comes out and takes hold of him. In her presence, he immediately calms down. Everyone thinks that Cosmo is pretty lucky to have Jetta. Jetta agrees, she's pretty lucky to have Cosmo too. Vaz flashes a picture of Jetta holding Cosmo, which becomes the closing storybook picture for the episode. Trivia

Adaptations[edit]Videos[edit]Karl-Lorimar Home Video released the video Clifford's Sing Along Adventure around 1986. Warner Home Video re-released it in the mid-1990s. In 1988, Scholastic Studios, Nelvana Limited, and Family Home Entertainment released Clifford's Fun with..., a videotape series with a theme song composed by Phillip Namanworth and Benjamin Goldstein. The episodes on the release are: "The ABC Message Service", "Clifford's Birthday Surprise", "The Scavenger Hunt", "The Rhyme Cat Rescue", "Clifford Goes to Hollywood", and "The Pet Show". Musician Brent Titcomb was the voice of Clifford, and actress Alyson Court was the voice of Emily Elizabeth. In the late 1990s, a television station in Spain aired the direct-to-video series for a short period of time. Television[edit]Scholastic Media produced a 65-episode adaptation shown on PBS Kids, which aired from September 2000 to February 2003. Clifford was voiced by John Ritter, and Emily Elizabeth was voiced by Grey DeLisle. There was also a 39-episode prequel series that took place during Clifford's puppyhood, which ran from September 2003 to February 2006, with Lara Jill Miller as the voice of Young Clifford. During that time, a theatrical film which served as the show's finale was released in February 2004 and no new episodes were released after John Ritter's death. However, a new series was released on December 6, 2019 for Amazon Prime Video and December 7, 2019 on PBS Kids with Adam Sanders and Hannah Levinson as the new voices of Clifford and Emily Elizabeth respectively.[7][8] They are returning on CBC Kids and CBBC and TG4. Live-action film adaptation[edit]In May 2012, it was reported that Universal Pictures and Illumination Entertainment would make a live-action/CGI animated feature film based on the book. Matt Lopez had been hired to write the script, while Chris Meledandri and Deborah Forte would produce the film.[9] In July 2013, it was reported that Illumination had dropped the project.[10] Two months later, it was reported that the film was still in development at Universal and that there were negotiations to have David Bowers direct the film.[11] Like the 2011 film Hop, Clifford the Big Red Dog will be animated while the other characters will be live-action.[11] On August 1, 2014, Universal scheduled the film for a release on April 8, 2016.[12] In the beginning of 2015, the film's release date was taken over by another Universal film, The Boss.[13] On June 30, 2016, it was reported by Deadline Hollywood that Paramount Pictures had picked up the rights for the film. According to the report, "Forte decided to take the material in a new direction," and "Universal let the option lapse." It was further announced that Justin Malen was hired to write the screenplay.[14] On September 25, 2017, it was announced that Walt Becker would direct the film, replacing Bowers.[15] The film is now produced by Scholastic Entertainment and Paramount Animation.[16] On February 27, 2019, Paramount set the film for a November 13, 2020 release, taking over the slot for the cancelled live-action/CGI Rugrats film.[17] The film features child actress Darby Camp as Emily Elizabeth and Jack Whitehall as a new character, Uncle Casey, in their starring roles, with Tony Hale as Zac Tieran, the main villain of the film.[18][19] On August 28, 2020, the film release was pushed back to November 5, 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.[20] On November 25, 2020, a 20-second teaser trailer from the feature film was released.[21] Then, on May 26, 2021, the film was rescheduled to be released on September 17, 2021, but the film was pulled from the release schedule due to the rise of the Delta variant.[22] Although it was surprisingly screened at CinemaCon on August 26, 2021,[23] it was later announced that the film would be released theatrically and digitally on Paramount+ on November 10, 2021.[24] Video games[edit]Original series (2000)

Was Clifford ever a puppy?Clifford was originally a small puppy, but is currently a very big red dog, whose size sometimes gets him into trouble. He is sometimes tempted into trouble by his friends and those he meets.
Why was Clifford born red?Clifford's iconic hue was picked totally at random: “It was red because I happened to have red paint on the drawing table that night,” Bridwell told the Boston Globe in 2004. Turns out that happy accident is part of the reason why kids are so obsessed with him.
