Hands up if you needed a moment to process that full frontal penis scene between Charlotte and Harry in episode eight of And Just Like That. 

Yeah, us too. 

In case you need a recap (or, like us, just a bit more time to dwell on it), the NSFW scene involves Charlotte kneeling down to give her husband Harry an impromptu blowjob in their Upper East side apartment bathroom. Then, a few things happen in quick succession. 

Their daughter Lily walks in unexpectedly, glimpsing Harry and Charlotte in the act. Charlotte promptly jumps up and slams the door in Lily's face—but not before we ourselves cop an eyeful of Harry's um, rather endowed manhood. 

It's quite a moment to take in, no doubt. The shock of not only seeing such a full-frontal scene in the show (which was, until then, a lot less liberal with sex scenes compared to the OG Sex And The City) but also learning that Harry Goldenblatt, arguably the best partner in the entire series had been that hung all along... enlightening, wasn't it just?

As it turns out, this train of thought was exactly what producers had in mind, because there's another element to the scene they've now come forward to explain.

As it turns out, the penis we all saw in that bathroom scene with Charlotte is a prosthetic. The producers decided to use it because they wanted to make a subtle reference back to Charlotte and Harry's early days of courting in Sex And The City. When she begins sleeping with Harry, Charlotte is vocal about how much she enjoys the sex—now, it seems we know one reason why. 

In a new interview, showrunner Michael Patrick King explained their thought process behind the prosthetic: "I decided, many people agreed with me, that [Harry] would have a substantial penis. Because one of the things that Charlotte says about Harry in Sex And The City is [their] great sex life: that she's repulsed by it, but she wants him," he explained, per Grazia. 

Of course, it pays to note that scale isn't everything when it comes to sex, with King adding: "Not that your sex life is dependent on your penis size. But when you're going to show his penis, let's let's make it be something that's a nice size." 

There's no doubt the producers did their job right—and the surprise factor didn't end there when a later scene saw Carrie Bradshaw bump into her neighbour's boyfriend, who accidentally revealed his full peen to the 55-year-old while she was passing by. 

Clearly moved by the two scenes, fans took to Twitter to share their shock.

"Everyone’s like, 'Euphoria penis this Euphoria penisthat'—AndJustLikeThat showed TWO cocks this week. TWO. One belonging to a 60 year old man and it was huge," one fan wrote in reference to HBO's other hit show. 

"They showed HARRY'S penis in And JustLike That. Dicks are really having a moment on TV. HBO in particular is committed to the representation of dicks," another added. 

Clearly, these fans were just as enlightened as everyone else. Who knows what episode nine holds...
