LANSING, MI – Several players came close, but no one was able to bring home the $660 million Mega Millions jackpot for the drawing held on Friday, July 22.

That means the drawing on Tuesday, July 26 will be worth $790 million with a cash option of $464.4 million.

Mega Millions winners for July 22:

· While there was no grand prize winner, four tickets sold matched all five white balls to win $1 million in the drawing. Those tickets were sold in Delaware, New Jersey, New York and Virginia

· The player in Virginia also played the Megaplier option, which increased their winnings to $3 million.

· In Michigan, one ticket sold matched four white balls and the Mega Ball while also playing the Megaplier to win $30,000 in the drawing. That was the largest prize won in the state.

· There were 1,546,798 tickets sold that won at least $4 in the drawing. In Michigan, 61,024 tickets sold won at least $4.

Mega Millions drawings are held Tuesday and Friday at 11 p.m. Five balls are drawn from a set of balls numbered 1 through 70; the Mega Ball is drawn from a set of balls numbered 1 through 25. The odds of winning the jackpot is 1 in 302 million.

Mega Millions is played in 44 states, plus the District of Columbia and the Virgin Islands. Tickets cost $2 each.

· The next Powerball drawing is Saturday, July 23 with an estimated jackpot of $119 million and a cash option of $69.2 million.

· The next Lotto 47 drawing is Saturday, July 23 at 7:29 p.m. with a jackpot of $1.5 million. Deadline is 7:08 p.m. that day.

· Saturday’s Fantasy 5 jackpot is worth an estimated $110,000. The drawing is at 7:29 p.m. Deadline is 7:08 p.m.

The last players from Michigan to win a Mega Millions or Powerball jackpot is the Wolverine FLL lottery club which claimed a $1.05 billion jackpot in March 2021. With their winnings, the group plans to give back to the community.

The Mega Millions jackpot has climbed to $790 million as there was no ticket that matched all six numbers drawn Friday night.

The numbers for the drawing Friday, July 22, were: the white balls 14, 40, 60, 64 and 66 plus the gold Mega Ball, 16. The Megaplier was 3x.

The next drawing will be at 11 p.m. on Tuesday, July 26, for $790 million or a $464.4 million cash option.

While there was no big winner Friday, there were still winners in Friday night's drawing: Four tickets matched the five white balls to win the game's second prize in Delaware, New Jersey and New York. Three won $3 million each because they included the optional Megaplier. The remaining Match 5 winning ticket, worth $1 million, was sold in Virginia.

When are the Mega Millions drawings? 

Mega Millions drawings are Tuesday and Friday at 11 p.m. Ticket sales end at 10:45 p.m. in Kentucky and Indiana. The next drawing is Tuesday, July 26.

How to play the Mega Millions

Tickets to Mega Millions cost $2 per play. 

There are nine tways to win a prize, from the jackpot to $2. 

Pick five numbers from 1 to 70 and one Mega Ball number from 1 to 25.

Choose Easy Pick or Quick Pick to have the terminal randomly pick numbers for you. You win the jackpot by matching all six winning numbers in the drawing. 

What's the Megaplier? 

Most states offer the Megaplier feature, which increases non-jackpot prizes by two, three, four and five times.

It costs an additional $1 per play. Before each regular Mega Millions drawing, the Megaplier is drawn. From a pool of 15 balls, five are marked with "2X," three with "4X" and one with "5X."

You can play Mega Millions in 47 localities: 45 states, plus the District of Columbia and the U.S. Virgin Islands. To find locations, search the Mega Millions website.

In Kentucky, Ohio and Indiana, you can buy a Mega Millions ticket at gas stations, convenience stores and supermarkets until 10:45 p.m. on drawing night.

In Kentucky, residents can also purchase tickets online at www.KYLottery.com.

In Ohio, residents can use Lottery Card available in Kroger, Buehler’s Fresh Foods and Giant Eagle stores. It allows Ohio consumers to enter draw games on their phones and get notified and paid electronically if they win. You can also buy tickets online at www.OhioLottery.com. 

What was the largest Mega Millions lottery jackpot ever?

There have been only three lottery jackpots ever won – in any game – at a higher level than next Tuesday’s estimated prize of $790 million. Two were Mega Millions jackpots: $1.537 billion won in South Carolina on October 23, 2018, and $1.050 billion won in Michigan on January 22, 2021. The current world record lottery prize is a $1.586 billion Powerball jackpot won on January 13, 2016.

What happens if I win Mega Millions?

Mega Millions offers two options.

You can take the annuity option,paid out as one immediate payment followed by 29 annual payments. Each payment is 5% bigger than the previous.

There's also the cash option, a one-time, lump-sum payment equal to all the cash in the Mega Millions jackpot prize pool.
