QUESTION: THIS OR BISSELL 3624 PROFESSIONAL SPOT CLEANER FOR AUTO CARPET AND UPHOLSTERY. WHICH HAS BETTER SUCTION? HEAT MAKE A DIFFERENCE? LONGEST HOSE?

never used the other one. Hose is great for stairs, could be longer for my truck floor and seats. heat doesn't seem to make much difference. lots of suction.

I find this product just okay...it picks up dirt and does ok with some stains but it's not for tough jobs. I use the heat but I'm not sure it makes a difference

As for the AWA, if there is an odor from an animal, do not use heat. I keep it on cool for everything. I use an extension cord when I use this machine. I have cleaned entire rooms with this machine and it does a great job. It's time consuming but worth it. I haven't used it on my car yet.

I'm unsure, the model I have is great for what I need, cleaning small spills and stains along with portability...

QUESTION: IS THIS EASY TO USE ON STAIRS?

I think so. It's not very heavy and unless your steps are really narrow, it should set on them without falling off. You can also carry it by the handle on top of the cleaner as you go up the stairs.

I think it is easy to use anywhere in your home. It comes with two sizes of brushes. One is for "normal cleaning" and the other is for small or difficult places.

yes

Yes, it is very easy

QUESTION: TRYING TO DECIDE BETWEEN MODELS. MY HOT WATER IS 140 DEGREES. DO I NEED THE ONE WITH THE HEATER? THANKS

I think warm or hot water (depending on your material) does a better job of cleaning. If you are concerned about it being too hot, I would fill it with cooler water and let the machine warm it up to temperature is set up to be. I just used my machine yesterday to clean a recliner and realized one of the reasons I have had such great success is because I used Resolve Laundry Stain Remover when something is extremely dirty.

I'm sure it maybe helps for loosening a some real tough stains or dirt but I have not used my heater yet, I have only used mine twice so far. I had a older model before with no heater & that always worked fine for me. Hope the info helped, there may be situations you wish you had it.

QUESTION: ARE THE FRESH AND WASTE WATER CONTAINERS REMOVABLE?

Yes the fresh and waste water are removable.

Yes, the fresh and waste water containers are removable for easy access to clean entire unit properly. This is one detail that makes this machine reliable and will in turn last longer and do its job properly over and over for a long time.

Yes they are. Disappointed with the suction and how it cleaned my carpet

QUESTION: HOW MUCH WATER TO ADD TO 1 OZ OF CLEANING SOLUTION

The cleaning fluid container has a fill to line for the cleaning fluid and a fill to line for the water. It doesn't have any actual measurements on it. I can't see any measurements on the cleaning fluid bottle either - sorry I can't be more help.

Sorry, Robert I'm at the lake and didn't bring any cleaning items with me! 😀 can you figure by fuvifing what the instructions say for a full tank? Also depends on what you're cleaning - tough stain or light

Fuvifing??? Dividing!!

There are markings on the water tank. If you pull it out and hold it with the large hole upward, you will see a small line close to the bottom for the cleaning solution and then a line higher up for the water.

Does Bissell Little Green ProHeat heat the water?
Hope this helps. These things are awesome!!!!

QUESTION: DOES THIS COME WITH TURBO BRUSH OR DO YOU HAVE TO ORDER IT SEPARATELY?

You have to purchase it separately.

I believe you have to order it separately. It did not come with mine. Actually, I have not needed one. The larger brush works on "normal" stains and the smaller brush is good for "working" out some of the more difficult ones.

No the Turbo brush is not included.

QUESTION: WHAT IS THE BEST CARPET CLEANER FOR STAIRS/

I don't have stairs but, I've used my Green Machine on pretty much everything. I love it.

I loved using the Bissell Little Green ProHeat Compact Multi-Purpose Deep Cleaner on stairs! It works very well and is very easy to use!

The Bissell little green proheat may be a good option for your stairs. However not knowing the size of your stairs and how many you have this many not be good. I have 14 stairs and they are approximately 28"x11" and covered in carpeting. This machine would work for them but I would probably have to refill the machine at least 3 times if not more. So keep that in mind when purchasing a machine. I really only use this machine in my car and for pet stains/ touch ups. I rent a machine for everything else.

QUESTION: DO YOU CONSIDER THE PROHEAT FEATURE TO BE MORE EFFECTIVE THAN JUST ADDING HOT WATER?

yes because it maintains the hot water benefits.

I keep a solution in my at all time. So I normally only use the ProHeat. I have no problems with it.

I think the pro heat keeps the hot tap water hot more than heating the water. So in that way it is helpful to keep the water from getting cold.

QUESTION: DO YOU HAVE TO USE THE HEAT FEATURE OR CAN YOU TURN IT OFF IF NEEDED?

The heat feature is optional. There are separate switches for power & heat.

The heater on this unit has its own switch so you are able to turn the heat on or off depending on your needs. If you do not require a heater check out the non heated Little Green BISSELL Little Green Multi-Purpose Portable Carpet Cleaner, 1400B

It can be turned off. There is a separate little red switch for it.

You can turn it on and off!

The heat is what activates the cleaning solution. Not using the solution properly might result in your carpet not getting clean.

No, you can turn the heat button off and on as needed

QUESTION: CAN IT BE USED AS A REGULAR VACUUM CLEANER (IE WITHOUT WATER) FOR AN AREA RUG?

Not really a vacuum!

I don't think so... Doesn't seem like it would work well that way.

I don't think this machine should be used without a liquid cleaner, as it is supposed to get up stains. Plus. the hose is very short, and you would have to clean your area rug on your knees.

no.

QUESTION: DOES THIS MACHINE ACTUALLY HEAT WATER (HOTTER THAN IT COMES FROM THE TAP) OR DOES IT JUST MAINTAIN THE TEMPERATURE?

Yes, it does actually heat the water when you flip red (heat) switch. As far as how it heats the water, you are not supposed to put in really hot water. It's meant for you to put in warm to normal temperature water and let it do the rest.....and so it does not just maintain the temperature of the water you put in.... I've had this machine for many months now, and it does it's job well. Heat function is a plus because it helps break up some of the dried up food stain/mess that he leaves around the car seat.

It does heat the water. Very good product.

not sure..I think it heats it hotter. This is a good little machine and does what's needed. Hope I helped.

QUESTION: JUST USED FOR THE FIRST TIME...DOESNT SUCK OUT NEAR AS MUCH LIQUID AS PUT IN...IS THAT NORMAL? THANKS

Yes, I was not pleased with suction.

I've used mine twice and if operating normally you should remove quite a bit of water. I will usually go over an area for about 60 secs pressing firmly against the carpet or upolustry

QUESTION: IS THIS SAFE TO USE ON A MICROFIBER COUCH?

I don't see why not. I have cleaned carpets for a living for over 20 yrs.The reason I bought a green machine is because I have a big dog who is sick and I was tired of hauling out my big industrial machine every time he had an accident. I 'm impressed with the little machine and if you use ammonia in it or spray diluted ammonia on your couch first with a pump sprayer then just use hot water in the machine ~ your couch should come out great. I use ammonia all the time in my business, it is a great cleaner, it disinfects, and it is not soapy so no soap residue, it also is not harsh so it will not bleach out color. good luck Annie

Works great on mine. It's the reason I bought it. Just remember to leave time for it to dry.

QUESTION: I AM LOOKING FOR A SMALL PRODUCT TO CLEAN STAIR LANDING AS WELL AS STAIRS. HAS ANYONE USED THIS PRODUCT ON STAIRS?

Yes I have and it's the perfect tool for stairs

Hi Michelle, this is a great unit to clean carpeted stairs as well as upholstery. It is light weight, portable, and very easy to use!

QUESTION: WHY IS MY MODEL 1425-9 LEAKING LIKE A SIEVE ON THE BOTTOM OF THE CLEAN SOLUTION TANK?? I JUST OPENED THE BOX AND TRIED TO USE IT.

I'm not sure, did you make sure the gasket is in there correctly. My solution tank has the automatic drip so when inserted into the machine the solution goes through the system. I believe mine drips when held upside down. Thought this was how it was supposed to work so I'm not entirely sure. I'm going home to use it again today so I'll check and see and get back with you.

It is new? Sounds like you got one someone returned, should not have anything in it

Sounds like there may be a issue with the cap and insert on the clean water tank. Give us a call, we'd be happy to help! http://www.bissell.com/contact-us/?cid=ccsocial2107

QUESTION: CAN YOU MAKE YOUR OWN CLEANER LIKE JUST WHITE VINEGAR AND WATER?

Yes you can, and that's a good deodorizer! GT

I don't see why you couldn't use that

Hi Krissy - We only recommend using BISSELL formula in this machine. Vinegar and other solutions could damage the unit.

QUESTION: DOES SOMEONE EVER USED IT FOR CLEANING A MATRASS ???? AND IF SO, HOW DID IT WORKED OUT FOR YOU

Yep! Took dog urine out very well. I even applied it to some much older stains from a spill years ago before I got the steam cleaner and it took most of that stain off.

Haven't tried. I use concentrated Shout(don't spray) on stains in general...works if you really scrub it in...maybe then use the Little Green to extract.

DO NOT clean a MATTRESS with this, or any other type "forced solution/extraction" cleaning machine! It will saturate the cotton, or other material batting inside, that will take a long period of time to dry, cause molds, mildew, bacteria, and things like skin mites to thrive which all can cause allergies to become aggravated, etc.

QUESTION: DOES THIS UNIT REMOVE HARDENED SALT DEPOSIT FROM INTERIOR CAR CARPET AFTER A MIDWEST WINTER?

I haven't tried this on my car , but I imagine that it would. The pro heat , should help. Good luck

It sure can, Kurt! One of the great uses for this unit is auto detailing.

QUESTION: I PUT HOT TAP WATER INTO MY LITTLE GREEN. BUT THE WATER THAT COMES OUT IS COOLER THAN THE WATER I PUT IN. IS THE WATER SUPPOSED TO GET HOTTER?

I put warm water in and it seems to get warmer. Have not had any trouble with this item. Cleans really well.

No. It's not a steamer. It does it's job well with just regular tap water. Sometimes I add the Bissell carpet cleaner solution to it.

Hi VeeGee - The heater in this unit will heat the water up to 25 degrees warmer than what is put in. If the water does not feel warm please reach out to us here and we can help: http://www.bissell.com/contact-us/?cid=ccsocial2107

Yes, it should get hotter. Did you press the heat. Button and wait for it to tell you it is done heating

QUESTION: DOES ANYONE USE A NATURAL/NON-TOXIC CLEANER FOR THIS?

No

No

We use the cleaner that came with it. (Worked great)

With our products we do recommend only using BISSELL formula in them. Not to worry our formulas are non toxic and safe when used as directed.

QUESTION: IS THERE ANY "ASSEMBLY" INVOLVED?

There is a little bit of assembling involved, but it is very easy

The only assembly is attaching the handle and tube to the machine.

No assembly necessary and complete instructions are included. This is a really great machine for small jobs and quick spot removal. The clean up is extremely easy also.

Just minor assembly to install the clips and attachments. I was able to finish in less than 5 minutes with a small screwdriver I had in my toolkit.

There's not much in the assembly. You need to put the machine with its parts in order to use it, anyway. Shouldn't take you more than 15 minutes.

Very little, just attach the hose, and Accessory holder. Took me 5 min.

QUESTION: IS THIS A STEAM CLEANER

No, it's not. I actually gave this away when I got a steamer and like it much better. The steam cleaner gets rid of smells and kills germs.

Hi Donna, this is an extraction cleaner. It uses hot water to clean stains in carpet and upholstery.

QUESTION: IF YOU WANT TO USE TO CLEAN CAR, DO YOU NEED AN EXTENSION CORD OR CAN YOU PLUG INTO CAR LIGHTER SOCKET? DOES IT TAKE BATTERIES?

You will need an extension cord.

Extention cord. However they do make adapters that turn cigarette lighter in to household plugs and they are fairly cheap. It's doesn't take batteries either. It's almost a good thing because those unit aren't usually as powerful as what this one is

This unit is great for car upholstery but If you do not have an outlet near by you may need an extension cord.

You have to use an extension chord. The machine pulls a lot of juice with the heating element and all. I suspect it would drain a car battery in no time!

extension cord only

QUESTION: BEST STEAM CLEANER FOR BLINDS

I have never tried it on blinds either. Seems like it would too messy for that. Not really designed for blinds.

Oh my. I don't know, as I've only used it on carpet. I love this machine, but I've never tried to clean blinds with it.

QUESTION: DOES IT WORK WELL ON MICROFIBER UPHOLSTERY?

Susan, I am so sorry I can't help you on this one. I have tile floors, except in my dining room where my very naughty dogs keeps using as a bathroom. I have used it over and over again on my carpet in there and it works beautifully. Sorry I can't be of more help.

I don't know about microfiber, but I have used it on my tweed-upholstered sectional sofa and it did as well as I would expect. The sofa was still pretty damp when finished but when I came back home in the evening it was dry and cleaner. I imagine it would work well enough on microfiber.

Yes it does! I've had mine for about two years now and it works well on everything I've used it on.

QUESTION: CAN I USE IT ON MICROFIBER FURNITURE. I HAVE A CAT AND HE URINATED ON THE SOFA.

Yes you can, it will work fine on it

Yes my wife uses ours on my microfiber chair and we have 3 dogs and a cat. It works on pretty much any type of fabric.

QUESTION: IS THIS LOUD? I PURCHASED A LITTLE GREEN CLEAN MACHINE ABOUT 15 YEARS AGO AND IT SOUNDED LIKE A JET ENGINE WHICH MADE IT DIFFICULT TO TOLERATE USING.

The noise is a problem at times, otherwise I would use it more often, because it cleans very well. When I do use it I believe that the noise is an issue.

Jeffrey , C'mon ! If we're hard of hearing later in life , you don't have to listen to your partner whining at you ! No it is not very loud ...

It isn't bad to me. No louder than my vacuum.

Same as any other vacuum

I think it sounds fine, the plastic seems a little cheesier than the older ones but other than that works great!

Sounds about like a vacuum cleaner.

QUESTION: CAN YOU USE THIS ON A MATTRESS?

I have! Worked great!

not recommended; may be you can try on a small spot to see how it goes

I have not tried it, but you would have to make sure it dried completely before covering with sheets.

QUESTION: AM I MISUNDERSTANDING SOMETHING, OR DOES THE VACUUM (LOUD) HAVE TO BE ON VIA THE MAIN/BLACK POWER SWITCH IN ORDER TO HEAT UP THE WATER?

Yes. It must be on via the black switch, and then push the red switch to heat the water.

Yes, I believe it works that way. Black switch turns machine on and off. Red switch turns the heat function on and off. What you have to understand is that the machine can be used with our without heat, but the machine has to be on in order to use heat in the first place.

I don't think so because there are 2 separate buttons for those respective functions. But the directions suggest turning the vacuum on prior to pressing the heater button.

QUESTION: HOW TO DISASSEMBE NOZZLE

I don't think that the actual nozzle is able to disassemble. Running it under very hot water did clean mine off after I used it.

There is a button to push to eject the nozzle & attach another.

QUESTION: CAN I USE THIS AS A VACUUME FOR CAR CARPETS INCLUDING WET VAC ?

I don't see why it wouldn't work

Yes you can, thats the main reason i bought it,works great!!!

I used the Little Green Machine to do the seats of a very dirt truck and it was amazing how well they came out; however, we had already replaced the carpet in the truck. I suppose you could use it as a wet vacuum.

I think it's just a spot cleaner. A car carpet is a good size for it to clean. As for using it as a wet vac, I don't know. I just use it to clean sections of carpets.

Great question! The Little Green is a water extraction cleaner so you will want to dry vacuum first before using.

QUESTION: ON ONE OF THE DESCRIPTIONS FROM ANOTHER WEBSITE IT SAYS "ROTATING TURBOBRUSH REACHES EVEN THE MOST GROUND-IN DIRT". DOES THE BRUSH ROTATE?

No

It doesn't. That must be for another model. :'(

No

No

QUESTION: LITTLE GREEN PRO HEAT HAS 9+AMPS AND HEATER, SPOTCLEAN PRO HAS A LOWER AMPERAGE. I WANT THE STRONGEST MOST POWERFUL, NOT TANK SIZE, TO CLEAN TILE TOO?

This is not for tile...this is a little spot remover for coffee/wine spills...pet accidents..dropped food etc. It does a good job for what it is the suction is not industrial and you do have to hold it at just the right angle to get the best suction. If I spilled something on tile I would use a paper towel.

I am not sure this is designed to clean tile. You may want to think about a steam mop instead.

The one I got seems to be just for carpets...not sure about amps on it....best I can answer

QUESTION: WHAT COMES IN THE BOX, ATTACHMENTS/SAMPLE BOTTLES OF CLEANER?

small bottle of cleaner. larger brush attachment and smaller brush attachment. great little cleaner!

Just a couple of attachments no cleaner.

QUESTION: CAN YOU USE A STEAMER ON A MICRO SUEDE FURNITURE WITH OUT DAMAGING IT. THE COUNCH IS NOT DIRTY, IT JUST HAS BEEN IN STORAGE FOR A LONG TIME AND I WANT TO CLEAN IT BEFORE SITTING ON IT.

Yes you could! I know it wouldnt harm micro-fiber.

Yes, that is what I bought the cleaner for and have been washing my couches almost weekly (3 personal dogs and I dog sit often) It gets everything and is so worth it! Sometimes takes some muscle to get deep down but I do parts at a time and like I said totally worth it. My friends also borrow it often and have the same opinion.

I use it on my micro suede furniture all the time.. it works beautifully

QUESTION: IS IT POSSIBLE TO REMOVE THE PLASTIC COVER ON THE WAND TO CLEAN IT? AFTER A FEW YEARS OF USE MINE LOOKS DISGUSTING. I'VE TRIED EVERYTHING.

No. I don't think it can come off. I think it is glued.

No

QUESTION: DOES IT SIT ON THE STAIN & WORK HANDS FREE

No it doesn't, you will have to use the hand held attachment, this machine does good at getting stains out

No, it is not automatic like the "spot bot" but is truly easy to use.

I followed the handbook advice and let the sprayed solution sit three to four minutes on the spot being worked on. Then I ran the nozzle end for extraction over the areas and all the dirt came right up. Obviously, the procedure is not "hands free," but neither is scrubbing action needed for good results.

It cleaned my car seats really good with little work from me. All stains were gone.

QUESTION: NOISE

It sounds like a normal vacuum.

I like my machine. It doesn't make much noise.

QUESTION: CAN I USE THE MACHINE TO WASHING A MATTRESS?

I'm not sure. It is a small machine that is meant for small stains so if you are cleaning an entire mattress I would say no. However, if there are only spots that need cleaning, it would work well for this. My concern would be that I don't know what is in the cleaning solution so I don't know if there is a possibility it would irritate your skin. You would want to make sure the mattress is thoroughly dry before sleeping on it.

Sure. No problem especially if it's just some spots. A whole mattress would take maybe 1/2 hour depending on mattress size.

Yes, it would clean the surface.

QUESTION: IS IT OK FOR CLEANING FABRIC COUCH?

Yes

Yes

QUESTION: MINE DOES NOT HEAT THE WATER, WHY NOT?

Mine really only keeps it warmer longer. I start with hot water, per the instructions.

try starting out with very warm water to see if that helps. from the reviews I read and the instructions it is not going to heat the water just keep it warm. It doesn't do a great job in keeping it warm either but it still works all in all well

Some models do not have the heat option (red button). If yours does, it still takes a minute to heat the water, so wait for it before pulling the trigger. If none of those help, then your unit is broken, and not user repairable.

Does the Bissell ProHeat actually heat the water?

Despite its name being the Bissell ProHeat, this carpet cleaner doesn't actually heat up the water it uses to clean your floors.

Does Little Green ProHeat heat the water?

QUESTION: DOES THIS MACHINE ACTUALLY HEAT WATER (HOTTER THAN IT COMES FROM THE TAP) OR DOES IT JUST MAINTAIN THE TEMPERATURE? Yes, it does actually heat the water when you flip red (heat) switch. As far as how it heats the water, you are not supposed to put in really hot water.

Does the Bissell use hot water?
