Claude de Alger Obelia is a main character in Who Made Me a Princess and the current reigning emperor of the Obelian Empire. In The Lovely Princess, Claude executed Athanasia de Alger Obelia[4] and usurped the throne by murdering Anastacius de Alger Obelia, his older brother and proper heir to the throne.[5] In the new timeline, Claude meets his daughter four years earlier.[6]

Appearance

Claude has short, golden hair with bangs sweeping over jewel blue eyes, an inherited trait from the imperial bloodline. He is tall with broad shoulders, long limbs, and a well-built figure. His daily ensemble consists of various robes and flats; his fashion style is noted by Athanasia to resemble that of Ancient Greece or Egypt.[7] During formal occasions, Claude wears an official military uniform, complete with a decorated, double-breasted frock coat, a fur-lined cape, trousers, and boots.[8]

Personality

Claude has a very complex personality due to a series of tragic events that occurred throughout his lifetime. After his older brother's betrayal and Diana's death, Claude cast a spell using black magic to eradicate his emotions. Without his cumbersome feelings, Claude grew to become cold and stoic. He lost value in familial relationships and refused to engage in social interaction, trusting very few people and preferring to handle tasks by himself. Despite this, the citizens of the Obelian Empire perceive Claude as a wise and responsible monarch. His great capacity to love was eventually rekindled after Athanasia, reviving what was left of his emotions. Though he refrains from expressing his affections in a straightforward manner, Claude cherishes those he values and cares for their well-being. His countenance is often detached and impassive regardless of what situation he is in. Aside from irritation, he has difficulty expressing his honest opinions. He has a short temper and is quick to execute punishment on those who have wronged him. During his free time, Claude often naps or spends time with his daughter.
