Earlier in September, Polaris introduced a limited edition version of the 2022 general. For this special edition, the company partnered with famous sporting goods brand Troy Lee designs. Minnesota-based Polaris is now taking the performance side by side segment to the next level with the introduction of the 2022 Polaris RZR Pro R and RZR Turbo R. Show The latest offerings are two of the most capable and advanced side by side vehicles ever produced by Polaris. The next-generation RZR Pro R and RZR Turbo R get a plethora of upgrades that offer more power, control, and strength. Both platforms will be available in two and four seat configurations. RZR PRO R, starting at $31,999 U.S. MSRP RZR TURBO R, starting at $25,999 U.S. MSRP New Polaris PowerThe all-new Polaris RZR Pro R is propelled by a 2-liter naturally-aspirated four-cylinder ProStar Fury engine that churns out 225 HP of maximum power and 152 lb-ft of peak torque. The engine has a unique intake manifold, a lightweight crankshaft, and higher compression pistons to run 91-octane fuel. This is the most powerful motor that’s ever been put into a side by side from the factory. On the other hand, the RZR Turbo R is powered by a twin-cylinder, liquid-cooled turbocharged four-stroke mill that produces 181 horse power.  The power is delivered in an almost instantaneous fashion courtesy of a larger clutch and belt. The side by sides also gets Dual Path Clutch Cooling which improves the life of the belts. Polaris also uses a new torque limiter to ensure that power surges do not damage the front drive. Drivers can select between three different throttle control modes, which include Sport, Rock, and Race.
Polaris RZR Pro R Built For BajaPolaris designed and engineered these vehicles to be near race ready out of the box. Long time Polaris factory racer, Wanye Matlock, is debuting a Polaris Pro R at the 2021 SCORE-International Baja 1000. Matlock’s #1871 Pro R is running factory suspension, power, and drivetrain and stated this car was built for Baja right out of the box. Polaris RZR Pro R and Turbo R StrengthThe new models also get a one-piece chassis which is mated to a fully welded one-piece 2-inch diameter roll cage. Furthermore, thanks to massive boxed steel A-arms, strengthened unitized hubs, and enhanced knuckles and driveline shafts, the next-generation RZR Pro R and Turbo R are also two of the strongest side by sides on sale today. Polaris ControlPolaris also offers its most advanced suspension setup in the 2022 Pro R and Turbo R. This sophisticated suspension setup gets an all-new intuitive system called DYNAMIX DV, which optimizes the vehicle’s compression damping and rebound based on terrain condition and inputs relayed by the off-roader. The system uses four new steering and suspension modes to monitor inputs 200 times every second. This is one of the many industry-first features that Polaris offers in the new models. Polaris’ Pro R and Turbo R are the only offerings in the segment to get the DYNAMIX DV independent compression and rebound suspension system. The RZR Pro R gets MaxLink 29-inch suspension which can shrug off plenty of abuse, whereas Turbo R runs a MaxLink 28-inch system. RZR Pro R also gets FOX 3.0 Live Valve X2 Internal Bypass shocks at the front and rear, offering 27 and 29 inches of travel, respectively. Four hydraulic disc brakes are used to give the Pro R and Turbo R unparalleled stopping power. In addition to the aluminum top hat rotors, the brakes also get triple-bore calipers at the front and dual-bore calipers at the rear. At 74 inches both offerings get one of the widest stances in the segment.
Polaris AccessoriesFor customers who want to personalize their offerings, Polaris also offers 70+ accessories for Pro R and Turbo R. The automaker partnered with some of the leading aftermarket brands in the industry to offer buyers a wide range of options that will help them customize their rides to match their style. Polaris also offers three new collections to outfit to your liking and applications.
These collections are specially designed to optimize the new side by sites for Desert, Dune, and Rugged Trail terrains. Polaris also offers the option of a Pro Armor five lug wheel, which is yet another segment first. Customers can pair the sturdy new rim with either 32-inch or 33-inch all-terrain tires. Pro Armor will soon also offer other aftermarket accessories for the new side by sides, which will include windshields, roofs, cages, and storage options. Polaris RZR Pro R and Turbo R PricingThe allocated available pre-order are completely sold out but prices for the 2022 RZR Pro R start at $31,999, whereas the more competitively priced Turbo R gets a $25,999 price tag. Customers also get the option of the four seat configured Turbo R 4 and Pro R 4, both of which are priced at $29,999 and $35,999, respectively. RZR Pro R will hit dealerships in early 2022, and Turbo R will arrive sometime in spring next year. Both offerings will be available in three trims: Sport, Premium, and Ultimate. Like all Polaris vehicles, these are sold with a standard six month bumper-to-bumper warranty.
