  3. So daggers or Faeblades?

Making my rogue and can't decide between the 2. They are both awesome and have different perks over the other....

The Faeblades regular auto attack feels good and doesn't seem to have any weak moments. I love the charge skill and the knock up is just plain awesome...

But daggers are just freakin cool. And the executions are amazing! LOL.

I'm OCD and can only put points into 1 upgrade in the fin tree.

Whatcha think?

Faeblades are aoe, daggers are single target. Daggers do more damage to humanoids from stealth, faeblades do more to beasts from stealth. Faeblades also translate to combat mobility, daggers let you time an attack perfectly to guarantee a critical hit. Because of the aoe/single target nature of the weapon, faeblade combos are harder for enemies to interrupt.

Imo, try to have a single target weapon and an aoe weapon so you can handle both situations at anytime. Like faeblades + sceptres or daggers + chakrams, for example.

FYI: There are bonuses available for Faeblades through Lorestones, none for Daggers. Daggers work better when trying to clear a whole room of enemies stealthily. When fighting crowds, Faeblades work better.

I like the Fae Blades, but I usually use daggers, using the Shine & Shadow daggers from the quest. Gotta love sneaking and killing what doesn't see you. I'll switch to Fae Blades if the enemies are bigger, Jottun, etc. and use the charge attack to drill right through them. Plus, gotta love using the bow.

I hate to shove another topic in, but there was some good discussion on it here:

Some of the points in the first post are probably off... at least based on my experiences playing. I haven't had time to do anything "empirical" yet, but I'm considering looking deeper into a weapons analysis if there's some interest.

WARNING: I am a mediocre gamer. Don't take what I say too seriously.

Go daggers. I've got loaded up points in both, but never use the faeblades. People say they work good for mobs, but a combo of land mines/spirit darts?/bow is so much more fun than just smashing down on a button repeatedly. And as others have said, the dagger executions/smoke bombs are fun for situations were there are less enemies.

i agree with lunarsword.
Daggers have better animation, way cooler finisher, do more damage, and are more fun to use (for me).
With dagger, you can kill stealthly with great animations
you can do some insanely fun critical move, easily launch smaller enemies in the air (and repetively critically slash them in the air).

In the beginning of the game, i try to be a sorcerer, then switch with faaeblade and bow. i then return to sorcerer plus longsword (and switch to hammer for fun), because the faeblade gameplay was a little boring.

Atfer reading some topic about how daggers were better than faeblades, i decide to try them. And YES, after adapting to this new way to play, it feel good, much better.

right now, i play with daggers plus bow, with a little magic.
on my next respec, i may turn entirely to finesse, with daggers and bow only. It feel good to kill with daggers.
