Fifty Shades of Grey watch online Amazon Prime

Originally, I had posted this as a feedback of the package only. I'll keep that information here, but now I'd like to add a bit about the movie.

I've seen this several times. I received the collection from UPS on the 7th. There are so many things wrong with the movie. The screenplay lacked so much. There were so many scenes that could have been left out and important scenes which needed to be put in. For instance, the beginning scene was chopped up horribly. If you didn't know how it was really written you wouldn't know why either one of these people would want to see the other again.

But, mainly, the spanking scene. Really? Three little pats on the butt and he goes home? In the book she was given a hard OTK real 18 swat punishment spanking followed by hard mind-blowing sex. Then she has a melt down after he leaves as she tries to come to terms about her body's reaction to the pain and pleasure. He comes back. The next morning she counts it as a win because he spent the night with her. He counts it as a win because she took the spanking and still wants to try his playroom. That scene is important on so many levels. It's her first *real* BDSM experience - not the playroom scene. And it tells so much about her reaction and emotions. It also gives us a very important look at how both characters are basing their relationship. Plus - the sex was damn hot.

They could have easily left out the *ice* scene and built up this important scene instead. It was crucial to the story. It was during this time that she had the tearful phone call with her mother too.

The first time I watched the movie, I thought Jamie's performance was a bit stiff. And I still think that to a small degree. But as I watch it again, I'm seeing things in his acting that I didn't originally catch. Now I feel that he did much better than I first realized. On the flip side, Dakota's acting bugs me more every time I see it. Her monotone, little girl voice bugs the crap out of me. Such as when he grabs her to spank her. Her little, "yes, sir" sounds like a 5 year old. Even in the playroom, when she says , "yes sir" and "good" she sounds like a child instead of a woman submitting to a man.

There is a scene the next morning when she’s cooking and she asks if he's hungry. He answers "very" followed by her saying "I'm making pancakes". I’ve seen reviewers talking about her wonderful comedic timing, but, to me, there is such a long lag between what he says and her answer that it seems her timing is off. Should there have been that long of a pause between their responses?

Even in the first scene where he tells her about his internship program, Ana (in the book) looks down at herself in horror. She's appalled because it’s obvious (to her) that she wouldn’t fit in with the groomed blondes who work there. The movie Ana just acts like a shy 10 year old.

Okay, obviously the more I watch the movie the more I like Jamie’s acting and appreciate what he was able to do with the role. As it was, it seemed that they took every single scene from the book that showed Christian’s personality and passion, and either deleted it or watered it down.
And Dakota grates on my nerves.

Just keep that in mind if you read the books and loved them. You may feel the same way I did about the movie. Or not --

One question - is there anyone in the universe who doesn't know she's Don Johnson and Melanie Griffith's daughter? Because it's mentioned in every single interview and review about this movie. Really, Hollywood, we get it. She has famous parents.

And, it really bugs me, more now than ever, that she moans and groans and pants and rolls her head from side to side in ecstasy when Christian hasn't done anything except touch her side and breathes on her. Just saying ....

In case you're wondering how this review got a 5 star rating -- I would never watch a movie this many times or take this much time to write a review unless it really hooked me in and I enjoyed it. For that alone, it gets 5 stars. And I will watch it again despite my criticism. I’m glad I bought it and I recommend the movie if you loved the books.

I also understand that they were forced to tone the sex scenes down by the studio. They did the best they could although the screen play could have been better. Take in mind the spanking scene I discussed above.

One reviewer laughed that Jamie couldn't even say "I'm fifty shades of ..... up" facing the camera. Hey, moron, it's the director who tells him which way to face.

And for all the idiots who ranted that Jamie didn't do a full frontal nude scene when Dakota did, it's not the same thing guys. Get a grip. For Dakota to have shown her genitalia, she would have had to lie down and open her legs with a camera shot between them. Being full frontal does not show her private lady parts. But, when a man uncovers, it's all out there. It is *not* the same thing.

Also, it turns out that Dakota wasn't as naked as we were led to believe. She had a flesh colored covering over her pubic area that went to the back. Some digital post work was done in editing. Also, not her butt getting the "whaps". They had a butt double. And, from an interview, he had to get a double who *didn't* have a tattoo on her bottom. Does Dakota?

So, stop the hating on Jamie because he wouldn't show all. Especially with the "she did and it isn't fair" nonsense. She didn't and it's a big difference between when a woman full frontals than when a man does. I know he can show all by walking around without the towel after a bath, but there is no disguising that he doesn’t have an erection during a sex scene.

Okay, rant over. Once again, I liked the film. It gets 5 stars. The fans input would have been helpful during production, but they didn't ask us.

In parting, if they want more from Dakota and Jamie, then they have to give them material to work with, a director who isn't afraid to let them show their emotions and a good look at the film set. We actually saw a bathroom with no shower, no spa tub and just boring, boring, boring all the way around decor. Ana's room was small and boring and certainly doesn't look like it belongs in a billionaire's penthouse.

DVD: Has only the theatrical version with only a couple of the bonus material.

Blu Ray: has both the theatrical and Unrated version. When you hit play it gives you a choice of which version you would like to watch. It also has all the extras, behind the scenes and a bit more in depth about the characters and production people. The Unrated version does have the alternate ending. By alternate, I don't mean that it changes the outcome. That stays the same. It simply follows them a bit longer: crying, running - remembering their time together.

It has the directions and a password to download the Digital unrated version, but I already have it downloaded on my Kindle and I can watch the Blu Ray and DVD on my TVs. I can watch the DVD on my computer. Blu Ray does not play on my computer so I may want to download the digital to the PC. Then again, how many times would I need to watch this?
