I use a Goldring E3, and I like the sound (but I do not have other references, since this it is my first cartridge!).

Where I live, the 2m Blue costs 50% more then the E3. And the E3 is in the same price range than the 2m Red...
I would say get the Blue... but keep in mind that for some people this cartridge is a bit too bright

What cartridge do you have for it at the moment, and why are you wanting to change?

That will help giving you useful advice and opinions.

Yes ....true ,Thanks....It came with a Grado MT +.....looking for an upgrade ....my other Dual 630 has an Ortofon OM 20 which is quite nice.....starting to think I should be looking at the Ortofon OM 30 as have heard it will accentuate the bass more and is a Very good sounding cartridge all around....a bit pricey though!.....maybe I will mount the OM 20 on my 701 headshell to see how it sounds

OM30's are nice enough, but personally I don't often run the 30 on the OM, most of the time its running a 20 or Black Diamond.

You may want to use the weight in the OM on the 701, it is quite a low mass arm, but it predates the ULM series.

Does anyone have physical dimensions on these two cartridges?....been having a hard time finding specs online! I heard there could be issues fitting on some headshells.

I think the problem with width, not sure about the e3, but I think it’s the TK14 that has the issue with the 2m body not fitting between the sides. I think the e3 is wider. I don’t think the TK24 has the issue

The OM20 and 2M Blue are essentially the same cartridge more or less. Both nude ellipticals. The E3 is basically an AT95e with a shell around it. In that price range, you could have an ATvm95ml with a microline stylus.

Thanks, yes I am thinking that also and have just realized that the Ortofon 2m series are too wide for my headshell tray so will take the OM 20 from my other Dual and mount it on the headshell for my 701 and try it to see how it sounds!....by the way I found all my required cartridge dimensions.
