How did blackbeard get whitebeards power

Ok, so this theory sprang into mind when I saw for the upteenth time Blackbeard gaining the Gura Gura no Mi.

How Devil Fruits really reincarnate

Buggy has a range of 200 Bara. Robin has 200 Hana. Enel can produce up to 200 million volts max. I think for sure that the number 200 will play a significant role in the future, but for know the point I want to make is that the fruit powers have some limits to their range, and that limit could be considered their "presence".

I think that when a Devil Fruit user dies, the fruit doesn't leave the body, unless there is another fruit in the 200 unit range. The powers remain in the deceased user, but they don't manifest because the user has no consciousness

The fruit then would transfer to a nearby fruit, in a ship's food storage perhaps, during the transportation of the deceased, or simply stay in the grave until some other fruit is transfered near it.

The clue about it is already there. If Whitebeard died, then the fruit would have instantly left his body. If Blackbeard could take the powers, then that only means the Gura devil never left.

After all, if a compatible fruit was in Burgess' sack, wouldn't Oda have shown us? Wouldn't it feel kinda cheap if we found out in the future that Burgess had used sleight of hand to give the fruit to Blackbeard or that he had it hidden inside his clothes when he got covered with the cloth?

If Oda never warranted some frames of animation for a fruit transformation, then we can also assume the host fruit must be compatible, but that is a theory for another time.

The How So Blackbeard gets draped along with Whitebeard. What was his method?

He essentially tricked and trapped the Gura devil. The black cloth covered the devil in darkness. Then, Blackbeard created darkness over Whitebeard.

So at this point, the devil can't possibly differentiate between the darkness of the black cloth or the darkness created by the Yami Yami no Mi. It can't tell black from black. Now Blackbeard absorbs his darkness, and along with that, the Gura devil. As of this moment, for all the devil knows, it is still covered with the cloth and has never left Whitebeard's body.

Remember when Blackbeard said that power was no problem, but controlling it was? That is the price he has to pay for trapping the devil against its will. Blackbeard has to create an opening to let the devil power loose, but he runs the risk of the devil escaping through that outlet. He has to be mindful over every attack and quickly shroud the devil again in darkness, so it can't escape.

That's why a marine specifically says that Whitebeard hasn't changed at all. Oda put that dialog there to safeguard us from darker theories.

Blackbeard's Comeuppance

Blackbeard will get another fruit, but at the end, in the great war, someone will find the strategy to gang him up from many sides, so that he can't keep up mentally and eventually the other two devil powers will slip through the openings, sense eachother, and blow up Blackbeard. After all, we haven't witnessed this happening, and it also answers the question how no one has ever thought of force feeding a condemned Devil Fruit user another fruit, just to check the integrity of the rumor.

How did Blackbeard get Whitebeard's ability?

Not on his ability to wield two devil fruits yet, but on his ability to extract them. We first saw this after Whitebeard's death in the Marineford arc. His crew covered Whitebeard's body with a black cloth where Blackbeard then entered. When the cloth was taken, Blackbeard already possessed the gura-gura no mi.

Can Blackbeard absorb Devil Fruit powers?

TL:DR version: Blackbeard's devil fruit contains the devil in another fruit. The Yami Yami no Mi spirit then absorbs the devil's powers as it has the power to suck in everything.

How does Blackbeard's Devil Fruit work?

The Yami Yami no Mi is a Logia fruit which makes its user a "Darkness Man". This darkness has immense gravity, with Blackbeard's body acting as the center of mass, essentially making him a black hole that absorbs anything he chooses.

How does Blackbeard use Gura?

Blackbeard using the power of the Gura Gura no Mi. The major strength granted by this fruit to the user is its ability to generate massive vibrations, or shockwaves, which can travel through virtually any medium, including the ground, the seafloor, and even the air.
