How did Rey Fénix get injured?

All Elite Wrestling (AEW) star Rey Fenix took center stage in his match Wednesday night and not because of his performance during wrestling, but because of a gnarly injury to his left arm.

Fenix took part in a tag team match teaming with Penta Zero Miedo against the pairing of Jungle Boy and Luchasaurus during AEW Dynamite.

Luchasaurus grabbed the Mexican wrestler by the neck and threw him over a table, but when both wrestlers landed on the floor Fenix's arm was caught, being flipped over by the inertia of the action.

Immediately, Fenix screamed due to the enormous pain he felt, which can be seen in the video of the terrible injury. As would be expected, Fenix was unable to finish the match and was immediately rushed to the hospital.

Jungle Boy and Luchasaurus won the match and the former, who is the son of the late actor Luke Perry, showed on social media his support for the Mexican wrestler.

"Wishing a speedy recovery to @ReyFenixMx," the wrestler wrote. "One of the very best in the world, and one of the greatest people. It's always an honor to share the ring with you. Much love."

However, Rey Fenix himself reported that he did not suffer a broken bone, although further medical evaluations will be necessary, as there is still no exact diagnosis of his injury.

"Thank you very much once again to all and congratulations to the champions," Fenix said, "enjoy and defend those titles, because very soon I am back and those championships belong to the LUCHA BROTHERS. I respect!," wrote Fenix.

Rey Fenix is one of the most important wrestlers of AEW and Mexican wrestling, standing out for his aerial wrestling and for being part of one of the most recognized families of this sport in Mexico today, being brother of the also wrestlers Penta Zero Miedo and Ikaro.
