How do you level up on covet fashion?

Join a group like Top Looks and Trending Styles on Facebook, and stay as close to their trending looks as you can without going broke.

Match the photo as much as you can. It doesn’t matter if your look is perfect otherwise if you went with a blue dress and the model is wearing red.

Never spend money on the daily, and try not to spend much on the $100 challenges.

Don’t be afraid to go out of season if it saves you money. Nobody can tell a $100 pair of jeans from 2016 from a $300 pair from right now, and the score impact is minimal.

What Is Covet Fashion?

Covet Fashion is a free fashion/style-based game for Android and iOS. The game allows you to dress up an avatar (you can change elements of the avatar like hair, makeup, and skin tone at any time), and dress her in clothes by real fashion designers. You win garments in the game to dress up your avatar with, and the game is great fun for anyone who likes fashion, dress-up games, or simulation games.

So how can you do well in Covet Fashion? This ultimate guide covers everything you need to know about the game: how to get started, enter challenges, create looks, win prizes (including how to win Top Look), enter Jet Set Challenges, add friends, set up a Covet Fashion Facebook account, and how to make money, save cash, and earn diamonds.

Getting Started

After downloading and installing the game on your mobile phone or tablet, you can get started! You can choose to either link the game with your Facebook account (a bit more on that later) or play without linking it.

I definitely recommend linking the game with your Facebook, so you can add friends, which will come in handy during challenges later. You can skip ahead if you want to learn about playing Covet Fashion with your Facebook account.

Once you get into the game, you'll see a sidebar with various choices.

  • Inbox: Receive your daily allowance of 100 diamonds and 20 tickets, and any event rewards you win.
  • Home: Find the results of previous challenges here.
  • Style Challenges: The main page where you enter challenges for money and prizes.
  • Vote on Looks: Vote on the looks in previous challenges to earn tickets.

Currency

There's also a bar along the top with the currency options.

There are three forms of "currency" you'll use in Covet Fashion: money, tickets, and diamonds. Money is used to buy garments in the game so you can enter challenges. Tickets are used to actually enter said challenges (most challenges cost between 15-25 tickets to enter). And diamonds are premium currency which you can use to buy expensive clothing garments, or even to convert them for tickets or cash.

Choosing a Challenge

Click on the Style Challenges link in the sidebar to enter your first challenge. The Style Challenges menu will open up, and you can browse the different challenges and find one you'd like to enter.

Each challenge is themed and will give you a short description of what your model is doing and what she should be wearing. There are also requirements for each challenge. You always have to pay a certain amount of tickets to enter, but you may also be required to wear certain garments in order to satisfy the particular theme.

Challenges last for a limited amount of time. Most challenges will give you two to three days to enter; some special challenges might have less time, while the Daily Challenge always stays up for 24 hours. After the timer runs out, you cannot enter a challenge which has expired.

Buying Garments

I recommend players (in particular, new players) to ONLY buy the garments needed for each challenge. When you first start off the game, you're given only $5,000 and you'll need to use your money sparingly.

I also recommend (at the beginning, at least) only entering challenges that will give you a decent reward, should you win. Most challenges will automatically give you a monetary reward upon entering (usually between $100–$200 and the daily challenge always rewards $500); try not to spend more than you'll get back in the beginning. If you do end up spending more, make sure the rewards for winning are things you actually want. If the reward, for example, is a dress you can't see yourself ever using, it might not be worthwhile to even enter.

Keep in mind that garments can be reused an infinite number of times, but you cannot sell them back after buying them, so buy items carefully!

You can buy garments in the Shop tab.

You can buy garments in the Shop tab.

Closet Value

Every garment that you own in the game adds to your overall Closet Value. This score is pretty important in the game; as you increase your closet value, you unlock more options for hair and makeup.

You can increase your closet value by buying new clothes or winning new items from entering challenges. You'll see your closet value increase with each new item added to your closet—and every time you reach a major milestone, the game will congratulate you on your new closet value and give you a rundown of which new hair and makeup options you've unlocked.

covet-fashion-game-app-tricks-tips-cheats-and-help-walkthrough-how-to-get-free-diamonds

covet-fashion-game-app-tricks-tips-cheats-and-help-walkthrough-how-to-get-free-diamonds

After you choose a challenge to enter, it's time to dress up your avatar. Have a look at the requirements to see what items you'll need to wear. You can look through your closet (or use the sidebar to sort your closet) to see if you have the required garments. If not, you can buy them directly from the challenge menu.

Besides the requirements, you'll need to add things to make a complete look: shoes, shirts, and jewelry, or other accessories are recommended. Try your best to make your outfit fit in with the challenge at hand, read the description and try to follow it. If the model is supposed to be outdoors for a hike, don't dress her in a ball gown (though you'll see many players doing this in the voting menu!).

Looking for Tips on Getting Dressed?

Check out my Covet Fashion Look Guide with tips on how to get Top Looks and Best Looks!

Choosing Skin Tone

As mentioned above, each time you enter a challenge, you can choose a new skin tone, hairstyle, and makeup to use on your model.

Skin Tones range from light to dark, and are all unlocked regardless of closet value. Your model will automatically be wearing the same skin tone that you used last time, but you are free to change it from challenge to challenge or use the same skin tone throughout all your challenges. I always choose to use a dark-skinned model; I like her to reflect my real life skin tone. Some players change the skin tones depending on the challenge (for example, many players changed their models to an olive or tan skin tone when the challenge was Samurai Warrior).

covet-fashion-game-app-tricks-tips-cheats-and-help-walkthrough-how-to-get-free-diamonds

Choosing Hair and Makeup

Both the hair and makeup options are limited to your closet value. Each time you level up, you'll unlock three to five new makeup and hair options. Once you unlock a hair or makeup style, you can always go back and choose the old ones you've unlocked in the past.

The makeup menu has several different makeup options to choose from; everything from a more nude/natural look, to glitzy/glam looks. Some of the makeup styles look different on each skin tone, so you can play around with your model's skin tone and their makeup to find a perfect look.

Hair has more options once you choose it; the majority of hairstyles have several different colours to choose from, so you can have the Chignon hairstyle, for example, with lavender hair, if you desire.

It's always a good idea to try and pick hair/makeup that goes with the challenge. If the challenge is for a businesswoman, for example, you might not want to choose a crazy hairstyle or nighttime makeup look. If the challenge is a rocker chic, it might be a good time to choose one of the more "daring" hair/makeup choices.

There's no limit to hair or makeup so you can use and reuse the same options as many times as you'd like!

Hair Accessories

Some hairstyles in the game have additional hair accessories which can be applied to them. The accessories vary from everything to crowns and wedding veils, to bows and head wraps. Not every hairstyle has an accessory option, and not every accessory can be applied to every hairstyle; the accessories only apply to specific hairstyles, which you can find out by clicking on the hairstyle and seeing which accessory applies to it.

Accessories can be a great way to really dress up for challenges. You can add a beautiful veil to a wedding dress challenge to polish up your look, or give your model a crown to make her look perfect for the princess challenge!

The only downside to the hair accessories is that they can typically only be purchased with real money. Depending on your location, the hair accessories range from about $6–$14 dollars /here, in Australia, they are $13.99!). You need to buy a hair accessory credit to unlock ONE hair accessory (which can be then applied to whichever hairstyles it goes with, so long as you have the hairstyles unlocked). There is currently no way to use in-game currency to purchase a hair accessory.

Sometimes, however, hair accessories are given out as prizes for special challenges, style sprees, or for winning in a fashion house rally (more on all of that below). There are also, occasionally, sales on the hair accessory credits (for example, there was recently a Thanksgiving sale where they were you could purchase one credit for only $1.99 AUD), so keep an eye out for ways to get free or cheaper hair accessories!

Props

Props are newly added accessories which you can use to further customise your looks!

You can access props during challenges once you've completed Level 5 in the game by clicking on the little wand icon on the top right of the dressing menu. Your model can have a total of four props per look: one prop for each hand (i.e. a mobile phone, a bouquet of flowers, etc.), one behind her (like fairy or angel wings), and one in front of her (like a cute puppy or cat).

Most challenges allow you to add props, but I only recommend adding them if they truly fit the look! If you're dressing a model that's at a fancy event, it won't make any sense to add a dog or a flying eagle behind her. But if she's being dressed for a wedding, why not utilise the floral bouquet prop? Looks with odd props don't win challenges.

Some props are free to use and some rotate monthly. There are also special prop packs, which you can win by completing limited-time challenges, or prop packs that you can purchase with real money.

Personally, I have never purchased a prop pack (if I spend real money on the game, I'd rather buy a hair accessory), but you certainly can if you think it'll complete your look.

Borrowing Clothes

If you've connected your account with Facebook, you can even borrow clothing from friends. If you have joined a Fashion House, you can also borrow from the members. You're only allowed to borrow one item per challenge and you can only borrow from each Facebook friend every three days, and from the Fashion House (as a whole) every 20 hours.

Keep in mind that you can only borrow the same item once from each person. For example, if you borrow the Zimmerman Weave Buckle Belt from your friend Sally once, you can't borrow the same item from her again. You can, however, borrow other items from Sally, or borrow the Zimmerman Weave Buckle Belt from another friend in the game.

You can borrow items from your friends in the game and use them to enter challenges.

Clothing Bonuses

There are clothing bonuses for each look you put together—one for unworn items and one for seasonal items. You can get up to .30 stars for current season items +.50 stars for unworn items. Try to maximize these bonuses by wearing any applicable unworn items and staying in season with your clothing. You can tell which season each garment is in by looking at the description underneath the clothing thumbnail.

With the bonuses you can get almost a full star more after the votes have been counted, so do your best to get your full bonuses with each challenge!

You can get up to .50 stars for current season items +.30 stars for unworn items.

You can get up to .50 stars for current season items +.30 stars for unworn items.

Boost Unworn

When entering challenges, you sometimes have the option to "Boost Unworn." This option only applies if you have unworn items in your closet which will be equal or more than the value you need to max out your unworn bonus. For example, if you need $756 dollars worth of clothing to max your unworn, but haven't dressed your doll accordingly, the game will suggest items in your wardrobe which you haven't worn that are worth $756 dollars or more, that you can use to boost your look to the max.

Choosing "Boost Unworn" allows you to choose one garment to max out without actually dressing your doll in it. Try to use garments that you don't think you'll actually use in a challenge (perfect for that ugly dress you won but don't plan on wearing, EVER).

Prizes

Every time you enter a challenge, you can have a look at the prizes that are available to win. Prizes differ from challenge to challenge, but typically you win a cash reward upon entering (between $100-$500).

If you win four stars, you'll win a garment (sometimes related to the challenge itself; if the challenge requires you to wear clothing by a particular designer, you might win one of their items as the reward).

At 4.5 stars, you'll win 25 diamonds.

At 5 stars you will win a secondary item- usually something that's more expensive. I've seen pricey handbags, jewellery or gowns in this section. They're great for increasing your closet value.

Finally, if you win 5.8 stars (which is only achieved by winning Top Look), you will win the grand prize of 5000 diamonds!

Styling Spree

The Styling Spree is a competition which runs every week and allows you to win a premium wardrobe item. You can win the Styling Spree simply by entering the normal challenges. Styling Spree eligible challenges are noted in the description, and there are generally 28 of them per week.

Once you've entered in all 28 challenges, you will be rewarded with the Styling Spree prize (check your inbox to see it!). Prizes are usually gowns, expensive jewellery, or handbags, and the value is usually $4k or higher, so entering all the Styling Spree challenges are a great way to increase your closet value and add premium items to your wardrobe.

You can also enter the Styling Spree challenges after the week ends, so long as the challenge is still available on the entry page. Try to enter all of the challenges and win these exclusive prizes!

Results

The results of each challenge come in after a few days of voting. You will be sent your results in the inbox.

The results tab shows your voting score that the other Covet Fashion players gave you, (including your points for bonuses) and any rewards that you win. Clothing and accessories will go straight into your closet, and will add to your closet value. Any diamonds that you win will be added to your diamond tally.

You can also see all your past results and looks by going into your profile and click on Past Looks. They will all be archived there for you or anyone else looking at your profile to look back on.

Best Look in Level

Best Look In Level is sort of a consolation prize for when your look scores really well, but not quite the perfect 5.80 score required to win Top Look. This reward is given to the highest scoring entry in the challenge, and is generally rewarded to looks which score 5.70 or higher (but below 5.80).

Winning Best Look in Level rewards you with all the regular prizes for winning 5.0 stars and higher, but you also win an additional 500 diamonds and your look appears on the Covet home page/"runway."

Best Look in Level is really a nice way to be rewarded when you're close to a Top Look but not quite. As always, you'll need to max out your unworn and in season to have the best chance of reaching Best Look, and the rest is up to the voters!

How to Win Top Look

covet-fashion-game-app-tricks-tips-cheats-and-help-walkthrough-how-to-get-free-diamonds

Is Winning Top Look Possible?

I think it's safe to say having a Top Look is every Covet player's dream! Not only do you win the two clothing prizes, but you also win 5000 diamonds (really, 5025, including the 4.5-star bonus), and your look is displayed on the Covet homepage "runway".

Winning Top Look definitely seems hard to do at lower levels; chances are, you won't win it until you level up significantly. Personally, I achieved my first Top Look at Level 19. A lot of it has to do with unlocking the nicer hair and makeup which is only available at higher levels. Players tend to vote for certain hairstyles over some of the lower-level ones, so once you have access to the "favourite" hairstyles, you have a better chance of winning.

To win Top Look you definitely have to max out- so you need to keep EVERYTHING in season (even 1 point off can mess up your chance), and you'll need to max out your unworn items.

After that, it's really down to luck! There are tons of inspiration groups on Facebook where you can look for the "trending" garment for each challenge, and try and style your doll in a look that *might* win, but you never really know. Most of my Top Looks have been a complete surprise!

Just try to think about what the challenge calls for, pick hair and makeup which suits the situation (and sometimes it's good to try and imitate what the model is wearing on the cover photo), and MAX out. From there, it's up to the voters.

Don't take it hard if you don't win Top Look or the best prize, though. The game is just a game, after all, and it's all in good fun! Keep trying and keep putting together looks you genuinely like, not just looks that you think will win. Eventually, you'll score a Top Look, and probably when you least expect it!

Jet Set Challenges work a bit differently than the regular timed challenges. You can access them by going into the Style Challenges menu, and clicking Jet Set at the top menu bar.

Jet Set challenges are open forever, and have no time limit to them. You can enter and re-enter them whenever you want, as many times as you want, though they do require 15 tickets to enter each challenge.

Entering Jet Set Challenges

Each Jet Set challenge will have a theme based on location and style. The idea is that you and your model "jet" around the world to different locations and get dressed dependant on where you are the theme of that particular photo shoot.

Each new Jet Set destination comes with three entries and each entry has a requirement. Requirements are usually a bit easy to pass, so almost anyone can enter, regardless of closet value or level.

covet-fashion-game-app-tricks-tips-cheats-and-help-walkthrough-how-to-get-free-diamonds

Unlocking Jet Set Challenges

The challenges themselves work just like the timed challenges; you dress up your model as usual, and can receive bonuses for unworn clothes or seasonal items. However, you do not win a prize at the end of the voting (voting results come back in 8 hours for these); instead, you win a rating out of 5 stars. If you receive the amount of stars required to open the next Jet Set destination, the game will unlock the new destination for you and will also give you a reward of 500 diamonds.

As you get higher up in the Jet Set challenges, you will probably need to redo the old challenges to get higher scores and more stars. But Jet Set challenges are a great way to get free diamonds.

Linking Covet With Facebook

Covet Fashion allows Facebook integration with the game so that you can add your real life Facebook friends and borrow items for their closets.

Having a lot of friends is great in the game, so you will always have access to more garments to borrow. It's really great, especially, when you enter a challenge which requires a specific item that you don't own and don't want to buy (or can't afford); you can just look through your friend's closets and borrow from them, instead.

If you have friends in real life who already play the game—great! Connect with your Facebook account by clicking on Account and then clicking on the Facebook link. The game will automatically scan your Facebook friends and add any friends who are currently playing into the game. You'll then be able to borrow clothes from your friends and vice versa.

You can also share a link on your Facebook page for your friends to download and play Covet Fashion with you. You have three referral links that you can give out, and if anyone clicks your link and is a new player to Covet Fashion, you'll be rewarded $1,000 for referring a new player.

covet-fashion-game-app-tricks-tips-cheats-and-help-walkthrough-how-to-get-free-diamonds

Creating a Facebook Account for "Covet Fashion"

If you're a serious Covet player, I actually recommend setting up a Facebook account just FOR Covet Fashion. It's really easy to do and thousands of other players do the exact same thing. Set up an Email address from whichever provider you'd like (I use Gmail) and then make a new Facebook account. I think it's best to put "Covet" somewhere in your name (for example, I'm Brittany Covet on Facebook) so other players will recognize who you as a player of the game. You can also change your profile picture to your game avatar or model.

Once you make your Covet profile, there are a few ways of finding other Covet players to add. You can make a post on the Covet Fashion Facebook page and ask people to add you. You can also join one of the many Covet Fashion Add Me groups, where people are always looking for new friends. You can start adding other players, and Facebook will automatically recommend players for you to add.

I found that adding friends snowballs really fast, though. I started a new account and added 100 people . . . after a few days, that amount tripled, currently, I have close to 1,000—and the majority of them found me. So don't worry about not having enough friends—you'll probably have too many at some point! You'll never make it through all their closets anyway.

Joining a Fashion House

Fashion Houses are groups of other players made up in the game. You can join a Fashion House from the main sidebar menu and then search for a house of your liking. There are a few benefits to joining a Fashion House:

  • Chat Room: You can chat with other members of your Fashion House whenever you'd like. This is the only way to have a chat in the game.
  • Ask for Advice: Being in a Fashion House gives you the option to post any of your looks before entering a rally, and you can ask for advice from your fellow house members.
  • More Closets to Borrow From: You'll have access to any of the members in your FH's closets, however, you can only borrow from the FH as a whole once every 10–24 hours.
  • Runway Rallies: This is really the #1 reason to join a Fashion House—entering Runway Rallies. Rallies can be thrown by your FH leader and are done by you and the members of your FH entering the timed challenges. If you and your fellow members receive a high enough cumulative score, you'll get a piece of a puzzle board. If you unlock all the pieces, you'll win prizes like premium garments, cash or even diamonds. If you're someone who likes to enter a lot of challenges, anyway, joining an active FH who also does so is great; basically, you have a chance of double the prizes with no extra effort on your part.

You can find Fashion Houses either by searching on the game itself, through word-of-mouth (if you have other friends who play, you can ask them which house they're in), through Facebook (join one of the many Covet Fashion Facebook groups and you'll see tons of FH recommendations), or you can even make your own Fashion House!

covet-fashion-game-app-tricks-tips-cheats-and-help-walkthrough-how-to-get-free-diamonds

One of the hardest things about Covet Fashion is making and saving money. You need money to buy garments, you need garments to enter challenges, but each garment is pretty expensive and sometimes you'll have to buy three to four garments in order to enter a challenge. Then, you get a small entry reward of $200, and might not even win the prize at the end. Unfortunately, this happens often, so you could end up spending $600 for a challenge, only got $200 back, and be out of $400. When you only start off the game with 5K, that money will go really fast.

So how can you budget and save money in a game like Covet Fashion?

Save Money From Daily Challenges

Make sure you do the Daily Challenge every. Single. Day. The entry reward is $500, and the Daily Challenge doesn't require you to have a specific garment—you just have to create a look. Obviously, you'll want to create the best look that you possibly can so you can get a good score and win a reward, but you don't have to stay in season for the Daily Challenge, and you don't need to buy anything new. I don't ever buy a garment for the Daily Challenge, that way I'm getting $500 cash a day, without spending anything. After a week, that's $3500 (and maybe a few reward garments, if you put together a good look!

Don't Spend More on the Challenge Than You Get Back

On regular timed challenges, try your best not to spend more money on the garments for the challenge than you'd get back for entering. For example, if the challenge gives you $200 upon entry, try not to spend more than that buying garments so that you get an actual profit back. If you do have to buy specific garments, try to borrow the most expensive one you need, and then buy the cheaper one for yourself.

covet-fashion-game-app-tricks-tips-cheats-and-help-walkthrough-how-to-get-free-diamonds

Earn, Buy or Save Your Diamonds

Having diamonds is almost a necessity in the game. Because no matter how much you budget or how well you save, eventually, you'll run out of cash and need more (especially when a new season begins and you need a new wardrobe). The only way to get more cash is to convert it from diamonds.

I don't personally spend a lot of money buying diamonds from the Premium Store. Some players have disposable income and are able to spend the money to buy the big packs of diamonds, and if you're willing to spend $100+, you can too. However, I don't recommend doing that.

First of all, from time to time, Covet runs discounts on diamonds. You can get up to 80% off the 1575 diamond pack at least once a month, and that's the only time I'll buy diamonds (for example, it's usually $7.99 AUD to buy that pack, with the discount, it's only $1.49. That's less than the price of a cup of coffee).

Other than buying diamonds, you can earn diamonds by completing free offers through Covet Fashion. There's an Earn tab in the Premium Store, which will give you options to earn diamonds. The main way to earn diamonds is by completing free offers (like downloading an app and running it, or taking a survey). These usually pay out anywhere from 20–15000 diamonds.

Before you start doing the offers though, keep in mind that Covet Fashion (and Tapjoy, the company who runs these offers) often do 2x Diamond offers, when for an entire weekend, every offer is worth double the amount of diamonds! Since many offers can only be completed once, I wait to do any offers until one of these promotional weekends is running, and then I do as many offers as I can. The last two times I did the double diamond weekends, I completed enough surveys, etc. to earn 40k diamonds! This is an easy and effective way to earn thousands of diamonds. Just keep your eyes peeled for a double diamond weekend!

The Modern Models Update

In January 2017, Covet Fashion underwent a major update, and the biggest feature included the "modern models."

Before the update, all the models in Covet Fashion were the same height and body shape. Though you could change skin tones, there were only six preset skin colors and all dolls had the same exact face (which you could just layer different makeup onto). The new modern update introduced 50 new female types—new skin tones, facial features, heights, and body shapes!

The Modern update was originally rolled out to all players and was the only way of playing the game, however, you can now choose to play either the Modern or Classic version of the game in Covet's setting page.

Here's a Look at Some of the Models in the Modern Update!

Different challenges will present different models
to you in Modern.

What's the Difference Between Modern and Classic Gameplay?

Obviously, the main differences between Modern and Classic are that in Modern, there are more body types and ethnicities available to play with. The other main difference is that in Modern, you're actually given a model to dress—you cannot change skin tones or body types when entering challenges.

Some Covet players hate this restriction, but personally, I find it a fun challenge. While all the different body shapes wear the same clothes, the garments look different depending on the model's height and weight, which is realistic and a nice addition to the game. Also, it's great to see that Covet chooses models which accurately fit the challenge (for example, if the challenge is "Japanese Princess," you'll actually be presented with a model who looks of Japanese descent, rather than being able to choose a skin tone which isn't exactly appropriate).

With Modern, you can also only choose from certain makeup styles—each skin tone has makeup specific to them. This restriction isn't my favourite, but it does allow for more realistic and diverse-looking models.

Last but not least, if you're playing Modern, you only complete against other Modern players once the challenges go into voting. So, if you're dressing up a curvaceous medium-skinned model for the challenge, you'll only be competing against other players who have the same model. Obviously, this prevents against unfair voting or discrimination.

Modern is a great update to the game. I'll have to be brutally honest: as someone who's been part of the Covet community for over three years, it was very apparent for a long time that Covet players tended to idolize and vote for one standard of beauty; typically, blonde-haired, blue-eyed models won Top Look on every challenge, even ones where that look didn't fit. Now, you can see all sorts of body types, skin tones, heights, and shapes win top look, and it's a wonderful change!

Questions & Answers

Question: How do you change back to the classic model in Covet Fashion?

Answer: You can switch back by going into the profile (the little person icon on the bottom of the menu) and then clicking on the settings (the gear icon) and switching your models to "classic."

Question: How do you switch to the modern model body type in Covet Fashion?

Answer: You can switch back by going into the profile (the little person icon on the bottom of the menu) and then clicking on the settings (the gear icon) and switching your models to "modern."

Question: How can I get hair accessories in Covet Fashion?

Answer: You can buy a hair accessory credit on the app, and then choose whichever hair accessory you like.

Question: What dates do the seasons change in Covet Fashion?

Answer: It seems to vary from year to year, but you're given notice a few weeks before it happens. Also, start looking in the store to see if you see clothes being added for the next season, and that's a good indication that a new season is coming around.

Question: What do you do with “charms” in Covet Fashion?

Answer: Charms are new! I'll add a new section to do with them- at the moment I don't know what they will really be used for or how they'll work, but I'll update the article once more information is out.

Question: I've seen models wear wings or other special accessories. Where can I find wings in Covet Fashion?

Answer: These are props! You can find out more about them in the "Getting Dressed" section.

Question: How can I maintain my progress in Covet Fashion when I change my device?

Answer: Connect the game with your Facebook account. Then you can log into multiple devices, or change to a new one.

Question: I've been playing Covet since 2013 and I'm only on level 26. How are some of these Covet players at level 67 unless they are buying in-app purchases? I've done that as well and still it feels like I'll never get there.

Answer: The only way to level up is to increase your closet value, which is done by buying more clothes in the game, and clothes are only bought through Covet cash or premium currency- diamonds. Those people at level 67 could be spending real money to buy diamonds, so they can convert it to covet cash to buy clothes. They could also be winning TL (5k diamonds each time) and investing in clothes, OR they might be part of a really good Fashion House which wins their rallies. They could even be getting free diamonds from TapJoy. Either way, they're somehow getting clothes (either through buying diamonds, winning clothes, or getting free diamonds) to increase their CV and level up.

Question: How do you earn more money in Covet Fashion if you have hardly any?

Answer: Enter the daily every day and don't spend any money on it. You get $500 per day ($3500 a week) just from doing that. Follow all the tips above as well, to earn more money and get diamonds.

Question: How do the Top Looks know what to wear and where do they find the outfits? All looks are the same! There has to be some secret something!

Answer: There are many "clone" groups on Facebook where people copy the same looks to try and get high scores. I personally don't participate in them as it feels like cheating and it isn't as fun as creating your own look, in my opinion!

Question: In Covet Fashion, I’ve seen accessories such as guitars, dogs, and baby strollers. Where are those coming from?

Answer: Covet was trying out a new feature with "charms"- the guitars, dogs, baby strollers, etc. It lasted about a week. The charms haven't come back to the game yet!

Question: I'm new to Covet. I bought a few things for my closet to get started and after a day they either want me to "reset" the items or they just disappear altogether. I'm not linked in with Facebook, but with Gmail. Am I supposed to just keep on buying the items for use in the Covet app? I thought they would stay permanently in my closet to reuse

Answer: Welcome to the game! Once you buy an item it does stay in your closet forever, however, it will only have the "unworn" bonus once. You can wear the clothes forever. I have clothes in my closet since 2013! Resetting it simply allows you to wear it as if it's new again (and then you can have pointed towards your unworn bonus when entering challenges).

Question: Do you have any cheats on how to earn more coins in Covet Fashion?

Answer: You can get more cash by completing free offers and earning diamonds. Watch videos, take surveys, and do the TapJoy offers. Once you reach 500 diamonds, you can convert them to cash.

Question: I am on level two in the game Covet and running low on diamonds. Which survey can help me earn diamonds?

Answer: Complete the JetSet challenges! Every location you unlock rewards you with 500 diamonds. You also get 100 diamonds every day when you log in to the game. Also, don't use diamonds unless you really need to, that's the number one mistake most newbies make.

Question: When I am about to take a survey it always says that I don't meet the requirements for that survey. Which surveys are you taking?

Answer: It depends on each person, their region, any previous surveys they've taken, etc. You can get blacklisted from completing surveys if you rush through them or enter false information, so be careful of that too!

Question: In fashion, what is a dual challenge?

Answer: A dual challenge means you can use clothes from two seasons- i.e. winter and spring, or summer and fall. These challenges only come up when one season is close to ending and another is about to begin.

Question: If I enter a Covet Fashion challenge that later on becomes a part of rally, does my look count in it afterward?

Answer: It sure does. I usually enter a big chunk of challenges at one time when I have time because I am busy a lot during the week. They all count towards your rally later regardless of how early you enter the look.

Question: I'm at the Golf Jet Set challenge. Do you know how many levels there are beyond that?

Answer: For now, that is actually the last Jet Set challenge. The Covet developers currently have no plans to release more, but you can always redo your previous challenges to get a higher score.

Question: Can you send gifts (clothing, cash etc.) to friends or other fashion house members playing Covet?

Answer: Not quite, but there's a few things you can "give" people. You can buy a "Fashion House Gift" in the store for $4.49 AUD and give your Fashion House a 10% discount in the in-game clothing store for 6 hours. You can also give away two $1,000 gifts to friends in the game if you're new to Covet.

Question: How can I get to higher levels in the Covet Fashion game?

Answer: Keep entering challenges and win prizes, keep buying clothes, and you'll increase your closet value and level up.

Question: How do we know that there is a sale on diamonds or accessories in Covet Fashion? Are we notified or should we check the Covet Fashion game daily?

Answer: The game occasionally notifies you, but you just have to keep an eye out. There are typically promotions/double diamond weekends during American holiday weekends (lLabor Day, President's Day, Thanksgiving, etc.)

Question: Please explain "reset to unworn" for me. Why do I pay again in Covet Fashion if I use the items over again?

Answer: Resetting an unworn item gives you points as if it's a newly bought object. You can use it if you have a specific item that's required for a challenge (i.e. you bought the hat specifically needed for this challenge a few days ago, and already wore it), and need to increase your unworn bonus. Having fully maxed unworn/in-season points is the only way of getting a top score. It's a strategic part of "winning" the game, but you don't have to reset your unworn objects if you don't want to.

Question: I read that you can now change the look of your Covet Fashion model after you have entered a challenge, so long as the voting for that challenge hasn’t begun. Where do I take advantage of this?

Answer: Yes, if you scroll down the feed and look at your entered challenges, you can click on them and change your look before it goes into voting.

Question: Is there any cheat code to earn money to play Covet?

Answer: There are no working cheat codes for the game. Any cheats or hacks could seriously mess up your game data, and/or get you banned from playing

Question: How can you get a guitar in Covet?

Answer: The guitar was a "charm"- it was a new gameplay technique Covet's developers were trying out on certain challenges. It looks like the testing for this is over at the moment, but they might be back in the future!

Question: I know that a look that has been "entered" in a challenge can be edited. In Covet Fashion, is there a limit on how many looks I can edit in one day?

Answer: There's no limit on how many looks you can edit, or even how many times you can edit a look before it goes into voting.

Question: I feel like I'm never moving up the ladder, even when I buy stuff. How can I move up in Ultimate Covet Fashion?

Answer: It can be hard to level up sometimes. I recommend joining a good fashion house that participates in fierce rallies (at least). You'll start winning challenges and lots of prizes, and level up faster. I typically can level up every week and a half when I'm rallying.

Question: Can you sell the clothes and accessories you bought in "Covet Fashion" when you're in need of money?

Answer: Unfortunately not, there's currently no way to sell back any of your clothes or items.

Question: Can you toggle off while on a rally and how will that affect your rally results in Covet Fashion?

Answer: If you toggle off before a rally begins you don't get to win prizes and your scores aren't counted towards anything. Toggling off mid-rally allows you to collect prizes (if your house wins), but you can also potentially drag down their score if you don't score well. I think it's a bit of a glitch in the game, honestly, as toggling off shouldn't allow your score to count or for you to win prizes, in my opinion.

Question: When I go to the premium store in Covet Fashion and click on the earn tab, there are no free diamond offers, is this normal?

Answer: There might not be any available. Unfortunately, the free diamond offers differ from region to region. Keep looking as it does refresh occasionally with new offers!

Question: How did you get the extravagant ice spikes and warrior crowns and stuff for Covet Fashion? I can only find flowers and floppy hats!

Answer: Many of those are hair accessories! They can only be purchased with real money, won in a Fashion House, or occasionally through participating in challenges in the game.

Question: Is there any way to search for specific garments in Covet Fashion?

Answer: Unfortunately no! Hopefully, the game will include better search filters in the future. The searching/filter options have become a lot better over the years, actually.

Question: How do you tuck in a shirt when playing the mobile game Covet Fashion?

Answer: Click on the "tuck" button on the bottom of your model while styling. Some things can't be tucked in, like sweaters.

Question: How do I set a phrase under my name in Covet Fashion?

Answer: The phrase you're seeing is actually the name of their fashion house. If you join a fashion house, its name will show up under your user name.

Question: I’m struggling to recruit new members to my fashion house. I’ve posted loads of posters on FB but still no uptake. Any ideas?

Answer: It can be difficult creating a FH from scratch. I'd probably recommend just joining an already existing one, and maybe once you've made more friends in the game, you can go off and create your own :)

Question: What happens if your house has won all the prizes for the runway rally board for the month? If you play again will you win some of the prizes again? Or is it better to wait for next board? (It's two days till new month)

Answer: My FH will generally take a break from rallies on the last few days of the month if we've cleared the board, as you'll just win the pitiful $100 cash prize if you win anything else.

Question: I accidentally toggled off right before a new rally was about to begin. Will I still get the prizes for the rally in Covet Fashion?

Answer: If you toggled off before the rally began, sadly it's too late. Just make sure you toggle back on before the next one starts in three days!

Question: I don’t understand the purpose of my style score in the Covet Fashion mobile game. Can you explain how it’s used?

Answer: It's really not used for anything, but ranking on the Leaderboard (the little trophy icon on the bottom of your screen). If you have a high style score, you'll show up under the "Top Style Score" section.

Question: How do I re-enter a Jet Set in the Covet Fashion game?

Answer: Go to the Jet Set tab and click on the one you want to re-enter. Then create a new look.

Question: What are tickets for in Covet Fashion?

Answer: Tickets are how you enter each challenge. This is explained in the article under the "Currency" header.

Question: Why do I have to “unlock worn” and pay again for what I already own in Covet Fashion?

Answer: You don't have to unlock worn; I personally would never use it unless needing a specific garment and wanting to max your unworn bonus.

Question: How do I reach another level in Covet Fashion?

Answer: You only level up buy increasing your closet value, which is done by having more clothes. Enter challenges, or join a rally to win clothes as prizes, or just buy new clothes.

Question: When playing Covet, why they won't allow us to sell the old stuff, I mean it could be a great way to earn some cash when you are out of it?

Answer: I agree and wish they would implement this, but I don't think they will. Forcing you to either reset unworn or buy new garments means forcing the player to get more Covet cash, which in turn ensures players will either play the game more or hopefully spend real money to buy diamonds and convert it to cash. The company wouldn't want to limit ways to make players play more or spend more money.

Hi there! That's a tricky situation, I believe you'll have to connect it with Facebook in order to share again. Unfortunately I don't think there's a way around it, but maybe Covet support will get back to you with another answer. Good luck!

quarkum on May 19, 2019:

Hi Brittany! Great article, thanks :) I'm just starting out but am already hooked on Covet, so the tips are really helpful.

I'm having one problem though: I can't borrow items anymore. I went the route of creating a Covet Facebook profile and connected it to the game, but then I decided to delete that profile (it was showing up as a suggested 'friend' for my own friends and I felt a bit weird about that). So I deleted the profile from Facebook and assumed Covet would go back to only allowing me to borrow items from my Fashion House members. But no, now when I try to borrow something, it tells me to reconnect Facebook and there's no option to say 'disconnect'. So I can't go any further, and I can't borrow from my Fashion House anymore.

Any ideas? I've messaged support and heard nothing back.

Thanks and have fun out there!

When I first started the game I thought yea this is great fun what more could a girl want great fashion for you to design outfits but unfortunately after a while it became clear to me you quickly run short of cash and diamonds so pretty much stopped playing it wasn't fun anymore. If they was an easier way to earn both cash and diamonds I would of definitely played a lot longer.

Hi Kimigirl! Sorry for the late reply! You don't have to download the TapJoy app- you can still access the offers in-game by clicking on your diamonds at the top of the page, then going to Earn and then clicking on the "Claim your free Diamonds!" link. It'll show all of TapJoy's offers there.

Kimigirl on March 17, 2018:

Hey Brittany! Thank you so much for this post. It's so helpful specially for covet newbies like me. I did made a new fb account for the game alone like you said hehe. Now I'm trying to do the tapjoy thing but can't seem to find it anywhere (playstore/online) I feel like it's been shut down or something? Has it? Also, do you have any other ways just like tapjoy now that it's gone? Thanks!
