How do you quick save on GTA 5 ps4?

Haven't played a lick of this game yet, my brother passed it off to me and asked me to save the game for him. He said it had to be done by sleeping in your bed but I can't figure out how to do that. No button makes him get in the bed. I'm getting a little annoyed. Help would be appreciated.

When near your bed, press Right on the d-pad to sleep / save.

Or...

Bring up your phone via Up on the d-pad, then select Quick Save.

Left direction button when the prompt appears near the bed. You can also hit the up direction button and move to the quick save feature within the in game phone.

It has an autosave but you can save at your safehouse by sleeping in the bed or you can do a quick save by bringing up your phone and use the option.

When you are positioned correctly next to your bed it'll show a lil icon telling you to push to the right on the D-pad. Additionally if you are not on a mission you can quick save on your phone.

Go to Franklin, Michael, or Trevor's place, respectively.
Stand next to the bed and press right on the d-pad.
It will also advance time by six hours.

Quick Save is also available on the main screen of your cell phone.

The truth is out there.

I'm Franklin in his house, but there's no prompt near either of the beds in the house. D-pad does nothing to get in the bed. Any thoughts?

I lost a hour of progress because i thought this game was auto saving. Ps3 shut down on it's own after being idle for a bit, now i have to start over...How the heck do you save in this game? if you can't manually save, do i actually have to reach certain points for auto saves? ........

...You can manually save. Just open up your phone or go to sleep.

The game autosaves after you complete a mission.

Quit blaming the game on your own laziness. You can quick save at any time with the cell phone, auto save is on by default, and you can save at safehouses.

If you were me, then I'd be you... and I'd use your body to get to the top!

First off all the real world is a mind rot just as video games, Second, I'm understanding from what you're telling me i have to save before a mission and if i forget too, I'm screwed? AUto save kicked in once, at the VERY start of the game lol...Auto save doesn't save much does it, seems useless, Thanks though.

The only time the quick save is grayed out on the phone is the rare times when the game is auto saving or like during a mission or right when you finish a mission but you don't have the "mission complete" thing pop up yet it won't let you save.

You can tell when these instances are because if you look at the map all of the icons and everything will be gone from the map because it treats it as if you are still on a mission.

Just wait like 15 or 20 seconds and you will be able to quick save.

I have been playing this many hours since launch. Never once had any lost progress or issues with saving. The quick save feature was a blessing compared to having to go to a safe house and advancing the time forward.

But I also never try and save and shut the system off in a middle of a mission either.

Maybe they patched kicking. My Franklin was back to before I jumped on a tour bus.
I saw one windowed up now.

My M Special randomly maxed out while in a fist fight. I couldn't max F Strength again.
Cops attacked me just for trying to get home, crazy the realism. =)
