Good value

Purchased 4 in Darwin for my Fortuner before travelling the Gibb and going to Mitchell Falls. No problem at all. Since travelled from aPerth to the east a couple of times including Kakadu and Alice Springs. Travelled 90000km and not even a puncture. Could be better in the wet. Due for replacement soon and will buy them again.

Purchased in April 2018 for $320.

Incredibly trustworthy,robust, and durable tyre.

The Bridgestone Dueler AT 697 is now what I would consider my number one All terrain tyre. The reasons are as follows. The Dueller AT has been my travelling companion for many years on many varying 4x4 vehicles. I have found that the wear life of the tyre is approximately 50 to 60 thousand kilometres if driven without abuse and rotated as scheduled. The tyre performs very well in wet conditions and provides premium traction on hard surfaces as well as loose surfaces whilst having very good on road manners. With this being said appropriate tyre ...

Read morepressures must be adhered to when the road deteriorates beyond the capacity of two wheel drive. These tyres are in my opinion one of the top most affordable all terrain tyres that money could buy in Australia. Yes other all terrain tyres look the part but I consider safety and reliability above all other matters when I am on the tarmac or somewhere off the beaten track.

Good tyres - 6th set

Mainly on sealed roads towing 2.9 tonne caravan. Last set noisier at last 30% of life than earlier sets and only likely to do 60% of previous mileage. 1st puncture yesterday due to screw on road.

Pretty good overall

NP Pajero here. Current set of these tyres has done around 50k and still going. Bought a set of five and have rotated them regularly to even out the wear and they will probably be ok for another 10k or so. Had no punctures or other issues at all so I've been quite pleased with them.

Contrary to other reviews I found them a lot noisier than previous tyres (Maxxis 751) but to be fair the Maxxis were more of a highway tread pattern whereas the D697's are a more aggressive AT. Going to swap them out for a set of Dueller D689's as I acquired a set...

Read more on the cheap so can compare them. I suspect the D689's will be quieter as again they are more of a highway tyre. Been running the D697's at 40psi on the road and the wear has been even across the width of the tread. The higher pressure probably contributed to the noise a bit tbh but I've noticed that running recommended pressures usually wear the edges of tyres quicker. Would recommend D697's to anyone though as they've been really good.

Purchased in April 2016.

Great All Round Tyre

These Bridgestone Dueler A/T 697 tyres are great in any conditions whether driving on the highway or off road. They have a deep tread pattern but are quiet on the bitumen, competitively priced and long wearing.

Dangerous

Recently bought a suzuki 4x4 with a pair of these on the rear with lots of tread left on them(I'd guess maybe 20000km left) never noticed an issue with them until it rained (about a week after i bought the car) and I lost traction at the back on a straight road, assuming I'd hit an oily patch I carried on my journey after reassuring the kids that all was ok, a little further along the journey and the same again, and again drifting round a roundabout at low speed, I cannot believe these are allowed to be classed as road tyres, would never touch this brand again.

Will get another set.

First things first, these are a QUIET tyre on road. Had them put on a Colorado after only getting around 50000kms from some geolanders and when I recently sold the Car the duellers had 24000kms after a year and the way things were going with them I would have been looking towards 80000+ kms with regular rotations and balances, which came free with the tyres when bought from Bridgestone at West Ipswich for $1050 for 5 with an alighnment. 6000kms from Qld to Tas and back throught hot western nsw hwys, wet windy tassie roads and they didn't miss a...

Read more beat, always felt safe. Done a few off road ventures and they bag out well on the loose dirt and seemed to have plenty of traction down at 20 psi. Good in the sand as well. Don't like washing cars at the best of times so I didn't take them into mud. When the tyres wear out on the new ranger I will be heading back to the Duellers without a doubt.

Purchased in May 2020 at Bridgestone Select, West Ipswich for $205.

Solid All Terrain tyres, worth the money

The Bridgestone all terrains I have are quiet on the highway and hold quality grip in mud. The overall handling and performance is good. An excellent all terrain choice. My Triton doesn’t slide on roundabouts in the rain anymore, stopping distance has improved and they improve the look of the 4x4 massively. Worth the money.

Bridgestone Dueler A/T 697 a solid all round tyre

I have owned two sets of the Bridgestone Dueler A/T 697 285 60 R18 and each time I have managed 60K out of each set. The LT construction makes them very robust for off road, I have thrown all sorts of punishment at these tyres, some war wounds but they continue to hold up and deliver the goods. They need regular rotating to get their full life I do mine every 5K for the first 20,000km then every 10K to 15K there after at oil change. I have owned Cooper and BF Goodrich tyres in the past and whilst they were also great tyres I would say the Bri...

Read moredgestone Dueler A/T 697 is slightly better for the pattern of usage I throw at them 75 City 20 Sand and Mud 5 Rocky terrain. The only thing I notice is when the wear gets to the last 10Km prior to the wear marker being encountered the tyres have hardened and can be a little slippery in the wet, not to be unexpected and to be honest most tyres do the same. Price wise in teh 285 60 R18 these are an expensive tyre at $400 plus per tyre.

Excellent tyres

Provides grippy traction that reminds me sticky skateboard tyres. As far as I have experienced they operate smoothly and safe both on dry and wet tarmac conditions yet not used for off-roading. I used to cruise with coopers but these are better

Update on the new set of tyres

After getting a new set of tyres, it seems that one particular tyre has failed miserably & Bridgestone won't honour it under warranty. The tyre must have had a bubble in it from the start & it ultimately gave way at 100kmph

Dangerous in the wet

These tyres are just s..tful in the wet. Did not have them on long before I found I was getting little to no traction turning at traffic lights and just in general. I had to travel about 20km/h around 90 degree turns in the wet and not under power or the back of my ute would start to break traction. Ok in the dry and on the beach. I am only reaching about 50 percent wear and they are coming off. I don't like the wet weather lack of handling on these things.

Purchased in May 2019 at Costco.

Long lasting

These set have lasted 130k km and are are considered the best tyres I’ve ever put onto my vehicle. They handle well in all weather conditions and terrain. They’re up there with the most durable tyres I’ve ever used.

No good in the wet !

These are becoming very dangerous as they wear down. A simple slow speed at a round a bout is causing the front wheels to under steer. Zero traction what so ever in the wet, even at very slow speeds. Drives ok in the dry and solid off road. Bit noisy but expected. The wet weather on a 50% tread is worrying...

Where can I get these tires from?

1 answer

Any Authorised Bridgestone dealer near you.

Looking to put these tyres on my 2007 RAV4 for 50 on/50 off road driving. Has anyone had good/bad experiences with these tyres on a RAV?

3 answers

Tyres will be ok but should you be going off road in a Rav? That's the better question.

The tyres are all terrain with a deep, wide tread pattern. They are designed for 4WD’s for both on and off road. Should be fine for a RAV 4.

Yeah mate they should be fine for conditions that deteriorate beyond the capacity of two wheel drive but I strongly recommend adjusting tyre pressure to 18 psi off road to prevent undue tyre damage

How will know that I have bought the right tyres

They will have Bridgestone Dueler A/T written on the side wall of the tyre. I bought them from Bridgestone Select in a buy 3 get the 4th one free deal. Not sure whether other dealers like Bob Jane, Beaurepaires etc would have this tyre or deal.

So many tyre choices out there you just have to find one at your price point and take a bit of a guess. At the end of the day a tyre is a tyre and they all do a similar job. If you never go off road t...
