How long are free periods in high school

My school didn’t have any. It was a small town school in the south, but yeah, never had that. We did have a whole hallways for freshmen (it started in 2007/2008, the year before I started high school) where Freshman had their own section of school from the rest of the students. We also had Trade School, which was in a town 30 minutes away (I went there my senior year). We also had half days on Fridays (started when I was in middle school, but it was Wednesdays for the first year), so we got out around 1/2 in the afternoon. But other than that, we went to school and had classes from the start to the end. Just thought I’d add that, because I didn’t know if other school did have free periods, while we didn’t. Kind of wish we did, like a study hall. Oh, and my freshman year, they started this grant that got Apple laptops for our school and we could pay to take them home or if you didn’t have them just for the day at school. We also could listen to music if the teacher let us. It did distract us at times, but really, I think we actually did good with them and helped us create really cool projects. If only the coding class I took got the technology for it (instead of putting it all on the football team and cheer team), because I went to an art college and knowing coding beforehand would have helped. But that was a good addition, especially since we used Apple computers at college. My high school was good (even though one of my classmates was put in jail my junior year for murdering a family member and another was put in jail for trying to shoot his girlfriend.

TL;DR: No free periods, but we had computers and half day Fridays.

Well, the answer to this question, I believe, depends on your high school. Still, the advice is to use as much of your free time as possible for productive work. Below are some basic ideas of things to do;

1Complete your Homework.

You can complete any unfinished homework at school so that you don’t waste time doing it at home.

2. Draw something.

If drawing is your hobby, get your sketchbook out and sketch down what you see. It is an excellent exercise to improve your drawing skills. It will help you even better if you practice your biology and physics class diagrams.

3. Make flashcards.

 You can create flashcards while reading your books in your free periods by writing a question on one side of a card and the answer on the other. You can use these cards as a short quiz for yourself.

Other things you can do include:

  • Have a conversation with your classmates on healthy topics.
  • Take a nap if you have nothing to do.
  • Playing games like tic tac toe (without making noise in the class).
  • Reading story books to improve your vocabulary and imagination.

There can be, of course, restrictions as well as liberties in your school which might not have been listed here.
