A full side of beef is the most economical way to buy our grass fed, chemical free beef. Buying in bulk saves money!

Our sides of beef are $16.95 per kg (as of 13.7.22) with the total cost (depending on weight) around $1,700.

This lasts most families between 6 – 9 months.

Initially all you pay is your deposit. We then invoice you prior to your delivery for the carcass weight of your side (which includes the fat and bone).

Firstly go through the cutting list options, this way you get YOUR order cut exactly the way YOU want it.

It will come cryo-vacked and labelled, all you need to do is put it in the freezer.

(Please allow around 3 weeks for delivery – our meat is dry aged for up to 21 days)

Remember, this is half a cow so you need to have adequate freezer space !

If you feel a full side of beef is simply too much please look at our “Quarter Side” option. You still get all the cuts, just half of the amount.

The all time favourite. A Quarter Side of Beef (quarter of a cow) is our best seller. Our quarter side of beef weighs in around the 50 – 55kg mark and will last a family 3 to 5 months. A “Quarter Side” of beef will cost you between $875 and $950. The price per kilo is $17.95 per kg (as of 13.7.22).

To secure your order we ask for a $100 deposit. We will then invoice you for the carcass weight of your order prior to delivery (this includes the fat and bone)

Your order comes cryo-vacked and labelled so all you need to do is pop it in the freezer.

How It Works

How much is a side of beef

Firstly:

Go through the cutting list and select how you would like your quarter side of beef sliced. These cuts will be tray packed and labelled into meal sized packs. Pay your $100 deposit to secure your order.

Secondly:

Wait time is around 3 weeks. Our meat dry ages for up to 21 days. We will contact you at the beginning of the week to organise a delivery time for that coming Saturday morning.

Thirdly:

Once delivery is scheduled we invoice you for the carcass weight of your order. This includes the weight of the fat and bone. You then either pay the invoice balance directly into our account or select to pay by card on the day of delivery.

When Purchasing a Side of Beef we will weigh and calculate the price and advise of the amount owing. - This $200.00 is a Deposit only.

All our Grass Fed and Finished sides weigh around 120kg and will yield you approx 70kg take home product. So the final cost of the Side will be for example $18.99/kg x 120kg = $2,278.80

In the basic cut you will receive approx 10kg of Premium Mince and 12kg of Gluten Free Thick Sausages. If you choose to add Mince from the Round you will add approx 3kg, Topside 4kg and Silverside 6kg. Adding these Mince options will also increase your Sausage numbers.

All other items purchased with this Pack will be delivered at the same time (No Split Deliveries)

Our skilled team of Butchers will pack and label your Beef in Cryovac Packaging to your specifications.

Sausages will be made as Thick Gluten Free Plain and Mince will be portioned and packed in 500gm cryovac bags.

Please allow up to 14 days for us to receive your order, cut and pack it to your special requirements. Once completed you will receive a phone call to arrange a suitable delivery day.

How much meat is a side of beef?

An average steer will be about 800 to 1,000 pounds dressed hanging weight. A side of beef will weigh around 400 to 500 pounds and a quarter around 200 to 250 pounds of meat. The total cost is based on the hanging weight of the carcass.

How much is a side of beef from the butcher?

As mentioned above, at $6.00 per pound, a side of beef will cost between $1,200 and $1,800. (Quarter beef is $6.25 per pound, based on the hanging weight).
